The exterior is decorated with white brick and a cute, homey feel, and dog figurines next to a 'beware of dog' sign by the entrance got a laugh out of us. There's a parking space right in front, so parking was easy. The standing signboard shows the crispy, generous-looking Gyewon chicken cutlet, plus the hot, spicy-craving Gyewon sundubu (soft tofu stew) at ₩13,000, so customers can check the menu before even walking in.

At Gyewondang Ingye Branch, we ordered three dishes: butter chicken curry rice with mini chicken cutlet, Gyewon chicken cutlet with egg fried rice, and hand-cut pork loin cutlet with egg fried rice.

Wow~ we gasped the moment it arrived. We had no idea the quality would be this good for the price we paid.

The hand-cut pork loin cutlet is a classic loin cutlet where you can really feel the texture of the thick loin. It had no gamey smell, was clean-tasting, and the breading stayed nicely crisp — a very solid, back-to-basics flavor. Dipping it heavily in the sweet-savory sauce brought back that old-school Korean-style cutlet feeling. Generous portion and great taste!!

Butter chicken curry set with a mini chicken cutlet

The butter chicken curry rice comes with a crispy mini chicken cutlet placed on top of a deep, rich butter chicken curry. It was great mixed into rice, and the combination of dipping the chicken cutlet into the curry worked really well together. My daughter ordered this one... and I'm planning to order it myself next time. The amount of meat was just right, and the curry cut through any greasiness nicely.

The Gyewon chicken cutlet is made with 100% whole chicken leg meat, crispy outside and juicy inside. It stayed crispy without going soggy all the way to the last piece. Served with savory egg fried rice and a cabbage salad, it made the whole meal even better.
