Daeyeon-dong pork soup restaurant for a meal with mom: Geumsu Dwaeji
In short
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch is a dwaeji gukbap (pork soup with rice) restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan, in front of Kyungsung and Pukyong universities. Eating out with her mother, the writer ordered the boiled pork set (13.0) and the pork jowl gukbap (11.5), wrapping the glossy boiled pork in lettuce, seasoning the gukbap with pepper and dadaegi (spicy chili paste), and soaking the blood sausage from the receipt-review event in the broth. With a welcome glass of makgeolli and unlimited rice and thin noodle refills, Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap made for a family meal that even her mother was happy with.

I visited a Kyungsung University favorite, 'Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch.' Hours are 09:00–02:30.
Hello everyone! ✨ Today I'm introducing a clean, hot pork soup restaurant near Daeyeon-dong that I visited with my mom, 'Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch.'
So many people near Kyungsung and Pukyong universities are looking for a real, deeply flavored gukbap (Korean soup with rice) and tender boiled pork, right? The owner had such a gentle, friendly impression that I felt good the moment I walked in — here's my honest review of this true Daeyeon-dong gukbap gem! 😋❤️
Welcome makgeolli and free blood sausage for a receipt review
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch gives you a free cup of welcome makgeolli (Korean rice wine) if you ask, and if you leave a receipt review, they give you blood sausage (or dumplings, your choice) as a freebie. My jaw dropped at the perks right as I walked in!
They serve a cool cup of makgeolli on request to every guest — a perfect palate cleanser before digging into the hot gukbap! 🍶

For the receipt review event (blood sausage freebie!), you order and pay via the tablet, then leave a photo review of your receipt to get the blood sausage on the house! (You can choose dumplings or blood sausage.)
👉 My honest take after eating it: I expected a tiny freebie portion, but the quality was seriously amazing! It was packed full with a great chewy bite — genuinely, legitimately delicious blood sausage 🥹👍 (You absolutely have to join the review event for this!)

Unlimited rice and noodle refills and the self-serve vegetable bar
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch offers unlimited refills on rice and thin noodle sarigi (extra noodles). Unlimited rice and noodle refills these days? This place earns top marks for value near the university district!
The self-bar was also neatly stocked, so I could freely refill fresh vegetables, chili peppers, and onions without any hesitation.
And the basic side dishes — the diced radish kimchi and fresh cabbage kimchi — need no explanation. Kimchi is the lifeblood of a gukbap restaurant, and this one was genuinely spicy and refreshing, pairing perfectly with the soup! 🥬 And true to a newly opened restaurant, the interior was so clean and tidy! ✨

True to their decades-honed secret broth and their slogan of never using old ingredients or old rice, I could feel the care in every single dish. It's a warm space that's easy on the wallet for students, nearby office workers, and families alike. 😊
What we ordered: boiled pork set 13.0, pork jowl gukbap 11.5
My mom and I ordered with high hopes: the boiled pork set (13.0) and the pork jowl gukbap (11.5)!

Boiled pork set: glossy, melt-in-your-mouth tender pork 🥩
Boiled pork at most gukbap restaurants often dries out a bit after sitting for a while, but the boiled pork here came out glistening with a visible sheen right away!

It looked like it came with both pork belly and pork jowl, and after one bite, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, this is seriously so tender" 😭❤️ Put a piece of pork on a fresh lettuce leaf, add a touch of salted shrimp, wrap it up, and it's pure happiness in a bite!

Pork jowl gukbap: half meat, half broth, loaded with pork jowl 🍲
The broth was genuinely packed with chewy, savory pork jowl! The broth itself wasn't overly salty to start — it was clean and light — so it was great being able to season it myself to taste, with a sprinkle of pepper and dadaegi (spicy chili paste) and salted shrimp.

Best combo: soak the blood sausage in the gukbap broth
💡 If you soak the blood sausage from the review event in the hot broth, it soaks up the flavor and gets moist all the way through, making it a hundred times better! ✨ Enjoy the clear broth for a while, then drop in the spicy dadaegi for a kick!

Verdict: the Daeyeon-dong gukbap restaurant my mom liked too
- Taste: A perfect pairing of glossy, tender boiled pork and rich broth with no gamey smell!
- Service: A friendly owner + welcome makgeolli + unlimited rice/noodle refills + insanely good review-event blood sausage!
- Would I return: 2000%! My mom was so satisfied, I want to come back again ❤️
