Gijang outlet Western restaurant with grilled mushroom salad: Bueokgan

In short

Bueokgan Restaurant is a Western restaurant standing on its own at the very back of NORTH 1F inside Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang, Busan. On a weekend outing, a pregnant diner ordered the grilled mushroom salad at 16,000 won, the pepperoni pizza at 17,000 won and the basil pesto cream pasta at 18,000 won, paying 53,500 won in total and finishing everything down to the pizza crust ends. The seasoning at Bueokgan was mild rather than salty, making it a 100% revisit.

The weather was so nice this weekend that I went out to the Shinsegae Outlet and ended up at a pasta place I loved. This is Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets, a Western food spot in Gijang!

Why Bueokgan works with a baby: wide spacing between tables

Here's the inside! There's a waiting zone right at the entrance and the interior space is huge. The tables are spaced out nicely, and since a lot of people come with babies, there's plenty of room to fit a baby chair in too — really convenient!

The interior has real restaurant vibes and it's pretty too ><

Bueokgan's menu and what this lunch cost

This is the menu at Bueokgan, the Western food spot in Gijang. There are set menus and à la carte options too — soup and salad, plus pasta, rice, gnocchi, steak, and pizza.

Order details for our meal at Bueokgan

Here's what I ordered ><

  • Grilled mushroom salad ₩16,000
  • Pepperoni pizza ₩17,000
  • Basil pesto cream pasta ₩18,000
  • Zero cola ₩2,500
  • Total ₩53,500

I went back and forth between gnocchi and pasta but ordered pasta! I love gnocchi so I usually order it when it's on the menu, but I'd been craving pasta for days, so I went with that. A successful order ^_^

Our order arrived ><. I went with the cream pasta, so I paired it with the spicy pepperoni pizza, and the combo was so good.

Grilled mushroom salad, 16,000 won: mushrooms packed under the greens

This is the grilled mushroom salad! It's loaded with arugula, plus mushrooms and cheese. The thing that looks like potato is actually cheese, and it's delicious.

When you lift the greens off, there's a ton of mushrooms underneath! They're coated in a sweet-savory sauce, so it'd taste good even if you don't usually like mushrooms. I ordered the salad partly because of my gestational sugar levels, and since the first dish out was this good, I got even more excited for the rest ><

Pepperoni pizza, 17,000 won: dough eaten down to the crust ends

This is the pepperoni pizza! I eat a lot of pizza during pregnancy, but unless a place has a really good crust, I always toss the end pieces ㅠ_ㅠ. Bueokgan's crust was so good I ate it all the way to the end — legit proof this place is worth it.

The crust is thin like a thin-crust pizza, so it's totally doable to finish a whole one. It's piled high with pepperoni too, so good!

A whole thin-crust pepperoni pizza

It's a little spicy, but pair it with the hot sauce and the richness drops to ZERO~

Basil pesto cream pasta, 18,000 won: cream that isn't salty

This is the basil pesto cream pasta. Oil vs. cream is as hard a call as jjamppong vs. jjajang, but cream wins again today. Cream and pepperoni pizza seemed like it'd be such a good combo, right?

What's really great about Bueokgan is the food is tasty without being overwhelming. The basil aroma was so good and it went perfectly with the cream.

A smooth, creamy forkful of pasta

The cream isn't greasy at all and the seasoning is just right — not salty, genuinely delicious! It stayed smooth and tasty all the way to the last bite ㅠㅠ It's the kind of taste I want again... slurp~

Dipping the pizza crust into the cream sauce makes it even better, haha. If you had bread on hand, adding it in to dip would taste even better!!

An empty, scraped-clean pasta plate

We scraped every plate clean. 100% revisit intent for Bueokgan at Shinsegae Outlet! If you're looking for a good lunch spot in Gijang, I recommend it ><
