Wandering the alleys of Seongsu, there's a place that catches your eye with its stylish space and the sweet smell of bread drifting out — LOOOP Bakery, known far and wide for its dazzling dessert lineup and quirky floor-by-floor spaces.

I usually love enjoying good desserts and drinks in a nice-looking café, so I went in with high expectations. Living up to its reputation as one of Seongsu's beloved dessert cafés, this visit was full of things to see and desserts that really stood out.

LOOOP Bakery's exterior and how ordering works

Arriving in front of the building, you're immediately struck by the modern, sleek, oversized exterior. It has that magnetic quality that makes you snap photos before you've even stepped inside.

Once inside, drinks are ordered conveniently through a kiosk. For bakery items, you load your own tray with whatever bread you want and set it on the counter, where staff kindly help you check out along with your drink. The flow is neatly organized, so ordering stayed easy even during busy hours.

What bread was on the display shelves?

The display case was packed with eye-catching desserts, living up to LOOOP's reputation as a Seongsu bakery café.

On the day of our visit, there was a wide range of bakery items on offer — cakes with visuals that just pop, savory-plain salt bread, and adorable little New York bear rolls. Each piece of bread clearly showed the care put into baking it, and they were so pretty that choosing which dessert to get turned into a happy dilemma.

One of LOOOP Bakery's biggest strengths is how rich and varied its themed seating is, floor by floor. The space is huge and the seat types are so varied that just exploring to decide where to sit was fun on its own.

• 1st floor seating: The spacious, comfortable 1st floor has a great atmosphere, with tasteful furniture and soft lighting. Perfect for relaxed conversation.
• 2nd floor vibe: The 2nd floor feels even cozier and more sentimental. A great spot to enjoy a leisurely tea time while looking out at the Seongsu scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
• 3rd floor (rooftop & private room): The 3rd floor has an open, outdoor-feeling rooftop as well as a private room where you can spend time away from the crowd. A perfect space for gatherings or quiet conversation.
• 4th floor (photo spot): Head up to the 4th floor and you'll find a distinctive photo spot for capturing that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Thanks to its atmospheric backdrop, photos come out pretty no matter where you shoot, making it a favorite among visitors.

How the lemonicano, vegan protein brownie and salt bread tasted

To properly enjoy the coffee and bakery items at this large Seongsu café, we ordered a good variety.

• Ordered: americano, lemonicano, vegan protein brownie, salt bread

Drinks: americano and lemonicano

• Americano: A clean taste with the beans' natural nuttiness and a decent body coming through. Its restrained acidity made it a great balance alongside dessert.
• Lemonicano: A drink with an unexpected twist — espresso's bitterness paired with fresh, zesty lemon. Refreshing and sweet-tart in equal measure, it filled the mouth in a way that felt both novel and clean, a genuinely special drink.

Desserts: vegan protein brownie and salt bread

• Vegan protein brownie: The texture was so dense and chewy that it barely felt like a vegan dessert. It had that fudgy, richly dense chocolate depth — a brownie that pulled off healthy and delicious at the same time.
• Salt bread: A textbook salt bread, crisp outside and moist-yet-chewy inside. The more you chewed, the more the buttery richness and salty tang came together, and it never got tiring to eat, staying clean on the palate to the end.

Is LOOOP Bakery worth a visit in Seongsu?

LOOOP Bakery is a Seongsu bakery café where just visiting is a treat, thanks to the wildly different moods across floors 1 through 4, right up to the photo spot on top.

From the convenient kiosk ordering to the varied bakery lineup, to the pairing of coffee with distinctive desserts, there wasn't a single thing I'd fault — this place gets full marks from me. If you're looking for a good-vibe café in Seongsu, or want to snap that perfect shot while enjoying great dessert, this is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back soon to try more of the desserts.
