Seongsu okonomiyaki split into meat and seafood halves: Oshi Black
In short
Oshi Black Seongsu is an okonomiyaki and teppan restaurant in the basement of a brick building down an alley near Seoul Forest Station in Seongdong, Seoul. The two-person selection (potato salad with beans, classic okonomiyaki, yakisoba pork belly roll) arrives with the classic okonomiyaki divided by topping — bonito flakes over the meat half, green onion over the seafood half — so two people can share by taste. A quiet weekday lunch with mom in a sleek black-toned room that felt more upscale than expected.

This time I took my mom to Oshi Black, a Seongsu okonomiyaki spot with an absolutely insane atmosphere~~ Spoiler: the upscale vibe and the menu lineup were both perfect, so we left completely satisfied!!!
Where is Oshi Black Seongsu, what are the hours, and is there a wait?
Oshi Black Seongsu is on the basement floor of a brick building tucked down an alley off Seoulsup 4-gil. It's open 11:30 to 22:00, with last order at 21:00.

We went on an awkward weekday time slot, so there wasn't just no wait — there was barely anyone there at all. Normally it seems you need to wait via CatchTable.

Hours 11:30–22:00 / Last order 21:00

On the way down to the restaurant, there are countless little memo notes stuck to the wall.

It felt less like a place that just sells food and more like a place selling memories — kind of deep, honestly.

Black-toned interior: is Oshi Black Seongsu a good Seongsu date spot?
The overall vibe at Oshi Black Seongsu is clean, modern, and upscale with an all-black color scheme. It'd totally work as a Seongsu date course.

The place isn't huge, but the bar table and regular seats are spaced out well so it never feels cramped.

There's even a separate spot next to the seats for setting your bags down...

The menu and table setting at Oshi Black Seongsu
The first page of the Oshi Black Seongsu menu is drinks. They have Kirin draft, which is basically a hallmark of a good Ttukseom Station beer spot... but it was way too broad daylight for beer, sadly.

The second page has the main dishes — mostly okonomiyaki and yakisoba. Everything after that is foreign-language menus. It was honestly impressive how thorough the foreign-language menus were...

There was also a little notepad sitting on the table. Genuinely perfect for a date course...

Water and napkins were already set on the table.

The basic table setting included a water cup, small plate, chopsticks, and a mini hatchet-looking tool (?)

What comes in the two-person selection: potato salad with beans, classic okonomiyaki, yakisoba pork belly roll
We went with Oshi Black's signature two-person selection! (Classic okonomiyaki + yakisoba pork belly roll + potato salad with beans~~)
Starter: potato salad with beans
The potato salad with beans came out first as an appetizer. The softness and nuttiness of the mashed potato mixed with the texture of the beans made for a really tasty salad! Add the crispy fried crumbs on top and it just kept going down endlessly without getting old... haha. Not gonna lie, we polished it off before the okonomiyaki even arrived...

Yakisoba pork belly roll and its chewy noodles
Right around when we finished the potato salad, the mains showed up!! The yakisoba pork belly roll is yakisoba noodles wrapped in pork belly with a layer of egg wrapped around it again, so visually it looks almost like an egg roll!

The yakisoba noodles inside were cooked to a really chewy finish — the texture was genuinely amazing..... I love chewy noodles, and I was surprised how well they nailed that texture here!!

The flavor itself was similar to regular yakisoba, but with the nuttiness of pork belly and egg properly layered in on top~~

Classic okonomiyaki: how to split the meat and seafood halves
The classic okonomiyaki I'd been looking forward to!! Being the classic version, it's loaded with pretty much every ingredient you'd expect. Meat and seafood mixed together in just the right balance — genuinely delicious~~

⭐A key tip you absolutely need to know!⭐ The side topped with bonito flakes has the meat, and the side topped with green onion has the seafood! So it's really important to split it up according to what you each prefer!!

It was cooked just right and packed generously inside, so the two of us could eat until we were completely full...

Candy at the end: eating at Oshi Black Seongsu with mom
After we finished eating, they even sent us off with candy in this adorable heart-shaped box — such a nice touch...

My mom said the atmosphere was clean and the food was really delicious, and she was so happy about it, which made me feel great too~~ If you're looking for a fancy teppan meal or a great-vibe okonomiyaki spot in Seongsu, I fully, fully recommend Oshi Black~~
