Sea-view noodle restaurant near Sanbang-san, Seogwipo: Sanbang Sochan
In short
Sanbang Sochan in Jangsu Sanghoe Jeju Sagye-ri Branch is a Korean noodle restaurant with sea views in Sagye-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, near Sanbang-san mountain. The writer ordered Korea's first tangerine meat noodles (gamgyul gogi guksu), abalone jang bibim naengmyeon, and a 5,500-won Jeju abalone porridge, praising the noodle soup's rich broth and the generous abalone. It's open only from 9am to 3pm, so an early lunch visit is recommended.

Here's the exterior of Sanbang Sochan in Jangsu Sanghoe Jeju Sagye-ri Branch, a Sanbang-san restaurant located in Seogwipo, Jeju!

Seating and sea views — fine for solo diners or groups
There are bar seats and group seating too, so it's good whether you visit alone or with a group!!

The restroom is inside the store! Sometimes the restroom door doesn't open easily — that's because the place is right in front of the sea, and the wind can blow really strong sometimes.

This is the view looking out from inside the restaurant! The sea view is so nice 🩵

The interior has an old-fashioned feel, and even the dishware is cute and detailed. I grabbed two side plates, and they felt clean and warm, like they'd just been washed~~

Water & ordering method
The water is self-serve and it had tangerine in it!! And you have to order using the tablet.

They sell postcards, and the proceeds go toward supporting an orphanage. The owner's heart is so kind... 🥹🩵

Side dishes: garlic and kimchi
These are the basic side dishes provided — garlic and kimchi! I've never seen a place serve garlic before. At first I thought it was diced radish kimchi.

Abalone jang bibim naengmyeon, with overwhelmingly large abalone
☑️ Abalone jang bibim naengmyeon (cold spicy noodles with soy-marinated abalone). A fruit-aged spicy sauce combined with soft abalone — a really delicious, refreshing and spicy bibim naengmyeon!!!
Can you see the size of the abalone?! The abalone is really, really big, so the noodles look scarce and the spoon looks tiny in comparison..!
The abalone was so big I cut it up to eat!

I took a big bite of noodles and abalone together. Do I look powerful? 😆

Korea's first tangerine meat noodles, with a rich broth
☑️ Korea's first tangerine meat noodles (gamgyul gogi guksu). Noodles in a milky meat broth topped with boiled pork aged in tangerine for 12 hours!! + house-developed tangerine pepper.
The meat is huge and the noodles are plentiful! But the tastiest part is the broth.
It was so good my partner shared some!! Seriously incredible flavor... the broth is so rich, really. Please tell me the broth secret 🙏 (The ladle is at the self-serve bar. We didn't know, so we just used a spoon lol)

Jeju abalone porridge sochan for ₩5,500
☑️ Jeju abalone porridge sochan. Abalone porridge made with Jeju abalone innards + abalone-and-butter-soy topping placed on top of the porridge!
Piling the abalone topping onto the porridge and taking a big bite — how good could that be~?!! It comes in a small bowl, but honestly, ₩5,500 for this doesn't make sense!!!! Great value and delicious too 🤤

Summing up our meal of three dishes
We ordered these three dishes and had a healthy, filling, delicious meal!!
The dish I recommend most is Korea's first tangerine meat noodles!! The broth is really rich and delicious, and the boiled pork and noodles are the best too 👍 Kids would really like the flavor too. With its antique interior and genuinely delicious food, this would be a great place to visit with family!! The view is a sea view too, so it's a feast for the eyes as well — a really great time ~🩵🌊
