₩23,000 oranda gift set for dad at a Jeju Dongmun Market snack shop
In short
Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is a traditional snack shop inside Jeju Dongmun Market that makes oranda (crisp rice puff candy) on the spot with jocheong rice syrup instead of sugar. Shopping for a dad who loves oranda, the writer bought the four-flavor Cheongchuni Oranda set for 23,000 won, and of the garlic, gamtae (sea tangle), nut and citrus flavors, gamtae oranda was the best. For anyone weighing oranda against chocolate as a Jeju souvenir, Cheongchuni Oranda is a solid pick.

In this post I want to introduce Cheongchuni Oranda, a Jeju Dongmun Market souvenir I picked up while doing the Jeju travel course. My dad really loves oranda (Korean rice puff candy) — last time we went to Gangneung he bought a bag and enjoyed it so much. So this time at Jeju Dongmun Market, I was thinking about getting oranda again, and that's how I ended up visiting Cheongchuni Oranda.
Where is Cheongchuni Oranda in Jeju Dongmun Market, and what are the hours?
Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is on the 1st floor of 6-8 Dongmun-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do, South Korea, open daily from 09:00 to 20:00.

Jeju Dongmun Market is buzzing and full of energy! It's pretty big too, so I could totally see why it's on so many Jeju travel itineraries. Cheongchuni Oranda's orange signboard stands out, so it was easy to spot even from a distance.

I didn't know you could also buy oranda on Naver Smart Store! It'd make a great office snack, or a gift for coworkers. A lot of reviews mentioned that, unlike other oranda, this one has a softer texture, which makes it even more appealing. I went with the oranda set, but apparently the gwajul (fried rice snack) is delicious too!

The 23,000 won Cheongchuni Oranda set as a travel snack
The packaging was so cute, perfect for gifting, so I picked the ₩23,000 Cheongchuni Oranda set. Everything's individually wrapped, so my mom and I snacked on one piece at a time whenever we got hungry during the trip. Crunchy, and it really gives you that sugar boost! It's so good my hand kept reaching for more. They're also running a receipt review event, so definitely take advantage of that.

They even sell whole-wheat pumpkin yakgwa (honey cookie)! That would make a great Chuseok gift too. Honestly, whenever people come back from a Jeju trip, most seem to bring chocolate or cookies, so oranda feels genuinely unique. If you're trying to think of a Jeju Dongmun Market gift with a bit of a twist, oranda is a really good choice.

What donut oranda flavors can you buy?
Cheongchuni Oranda even has donut-shaped oranda, a shape you won't find at other markets! Coconut, citrus chip, cookies & cream, green tea, black sesame, peanut, hwang cheese, carrot chocolate, chocolate, strawberry — every flavor that hits the MZ-generation sweet spot was there, colorful and pretty, and I loved it. Next time I visit Cheongchuni Oranda I'm definitely picking up the donut oranda!

Best flavor of the set: gamtae (sea tangle) oranda
Of all the oranda flavors, gamtae (sea tangle) oranda was my favorite. I already love gamtae, but I think it also just tasted better because it's a bit different and distinctive compared to regular oranda! It's sold individually too, so next time I visit I plan to buy a bigger portion of just gamtae oranda.

I really appreciated that they let you sample pieces of oranda before buying. And the owner was so kind! With over 3,100 Naver reviews, I'd say this place has definitely earned its reputation.

Jocheong rice syrup instead of sugar, in the same spot since 2018
It made sense why they say the oranda is fresh and high quality — it's made with jocheong (Korean rice syrup) rather than sugar. They've been running the shop on this same spot since 2018, and the crowd of customers explains itself through the taste.

I made sure not to miss the scene of them making oranda right in front of you. Watching it made fresh, right on the spot, makes it feel even more trustworthy. Clean and hygienic!

What's inside the four-flavor oranda gift set
The oranda set I chose comes with garlic oranda, gamtae oranda, nut oranda, and citrus oranda — such a variety that you get to try a bit of everything. It's packed with healthy nuts and seeds like peanuts, almonds, black sesame, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.

Even the packaging is perfectly adorable — this is a Cheongchuni Oranda I'd want to eat again! If you happen to stop by Jeju Dongmun Market, I definitely recommend grabbing a box.
