Dongseongno café in Daegu with whole-cherry bingsu: Otter Rabbit House
In short
Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch is a new European-style brunch café on Jongno in Jung-gu, Daegu, near Dongseongno. On a weekend afternoon this writer ordered the cherry bingsu (shaved ice dessert) topped with whole cherries and the signature Baerami Ade, in a space with a brick exterior and warm wood-toned interior. I came back to Dongseong-ro after a while, and while looking for a café to visit I found a newly opened, elegant European-style brunch spot called Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch (오터래빗하우스 종로점)!! The cherry bingsu was so good and I fell for the exotic interior — here's my honest review of this brunch café in Jung-gu, Daegu :)

A brick European exterior and a fairy-tale wood interior
First off, I fell for the exterior — it felt like I'd stepped into Europe. Classic brick with lighting to match!! If you take a photo with the shop as your background, you'd think you were abroad haha. If only there weren't cars passing right in front, it would've been perfect to set up an outdoor table and sip coffee there... a little disappointing!!!

The inside was even more of a fairy-tale vibe — the warm wood tones made it feel cozy. Most of the seats were for 1–2 people, but if you visit with more than two, they push tables together, so it's fine for group visits too.

Even the brick walls aren't just brick-patterned — they're real brick, so it's bursting with atmosphere.

Ordering at the kiosk: a menu from coffee to wine
Ordering is conveniently done at the kiosk in front of the shop. They sell a wide range of coffee, desserts, brunch, and even wine. There were so many delicious-looking menu items, but unfortunately we'd already eaten, so we saved brunch for next time and decided to try cherry bingsu, which I'd never had in my life!! (drumroll)

Honestly, I was in awe of the visuals the moment it arrived,,!! That many cherries piled on top!! A look you simply have to try ><

Since they're open until 10pm, it seems great to visit in the evening for dinner with a glass of wine. They have red, white, and sparkling wine as well as beer — plenty of variety. If you join their Naver review event, they'll even give you a signature milkshake!

Cherry bingsu topped with whole cherries
Ta-da. The cherry bingsu and the signature drink 'Baerami Ade' arrived. The cherry bingsu looked exactly like the picture!! Already an A+ on visuals alone. Usually cherry bingsu comes with cherries cut in half on top, but this one had whole cherries!!

The cherries were piled so high it nearly overflowed. On top was a bit of thick mascarpone cream cheese and pistachio powder, plus a little homemade cherry compote on the side. You could really feel the care put into each ingredient.

What does the Baerami Ade taste like?
Baerami Ade is a refreshing ade made with pear, lime, and mint. At first I thought, is it a bit bland? But once I stirred it down to the bottom and pressed the lime slice, it turned completely tangy and refreshing! So delicious.

There were so many cherries that even with two of us eating, there were still plenty left. Even the ice itself was dyed a pretty cherry color, so we enjoyed it both visually and by taste haha. First time ever having cherry bingsu, but it was so, so satisfying.

What to try next at Otter Rabbit House, and final verdict
With signature desserts like brownies, plus lasagna, pasta, risotto, pizza, and French toast, the menu and drink selection were so varied that this became a Daegu Jongno brunch café I want to revisit.

From the interior to the atmosphere to the taste of the food, nothing was less than perfect, making it a great spot for small gatherings too — I highly, highly recommend Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch~!!
