Jeju café near the airport for chocolate cake: Gluttony Coffee

No matter where you go in Korea, there are neighborhoods with great restaurants that locals frequent rather than tourists, right? Jeju has one too: Gunam-dong, near Jeju Airport, where office workers and Jeju residents often go instead of the famous tourist spots packed with visitors. Haha.

I often meet friends in Gunam-dong when we have plans. Not long ago, a friend visiting from Seoul said her schedule was tight and suggested, “Let’s eat and go to a café near Jeju Airport!” So we headed to Gunam-dong, not far from the airport and quietly full of good restaurants and cafés.

It is an easy drive from the airport, so it is a nice neighborhood to visit on the first or last day of a trip. I stop by Gluttony Coffee (글러트니커피) whenever I am in Gunam-dong, and I wanted to introduce it because so many Jeju locals visit and both the desserts and coffee are truly delicious ^^ If you are looking for a café near Jeju Airport, this is just the place. Gunam-dong is mainly a residential neighborhood, which gives it such a quiet, relaxed charm.

It is only a quick drive from Jeju Airport, so it is very accessible too.

The first time I learned about it, I came after seeing a café recommendation near Jeju Airport. Now I make a point of visiting because the atmosphere is lovely and the desserts are so good.

The exterior alone looks neat and stylish, so anyone passing by would probably stop and take a look.

Open daily from 11:00 to 20:00.

Nearby public parking makes it very convenient, so it is also a great spot for travelers driving themselves. Looking at the peaceful neighborhood through the floor-to-ceiling windows makes me freshly realize that I am in Jeju. Definitely one of Gunam-dong’s best spots for atmosphere!

Wide table spacing for easy conversation

When you open the door and step inside, the warm lighting and stylish interior are the first things that catch your eye.

The tables are well spaced, which made it so easy to talk without worrying about the people beside us.

The window seats are especially nice: soft sunlight comes in during the day, and at night the lighting creates a lovely mood. The tables were all full, though, so I could not take many interior photos haha.

It is fun to look at all the objects placed around the space, too. It did not feel like somewhere you simply drink coffee; the interior felt designed to give visitors a rest. Every item on Gluttony Coffee’s menu is right up my alley!

Seasonal desserts and a detailed espresso menu

Once you properly look over the menu, you immediately understand why this place is so popular. There is an impressive variety of coffee, plus cakes and cookies that change with the seasons. Every time I visit, I fall for another delicious dessert.

The espresso menu is especially detailed, so it is practically heaven for anyone who enjoys strong coffee. The prices are reasonable too, which I love because it makes trying a range of items feel easy. For a café near Jeju Airport, the depth of the coffee is really something else.

Americano and dense chocolate cake together

I usually have a cream latte whenever I visit Gluttony Coffee, but the Americano is also so good. This time, I ordered one with a rich, dense chocolate cake.

The Americano had a nutty, full-bodied flavor with a clean finish, which I really enjoyed. It paired perfectly with the sweet, rich chocolate cake; the coffee’s slight bitterness worked so well with it.

Gluttony Coffee is especially famous for fresh fruit cakes made with seasonal fruit! It is fig season these days, and I had heard the fig cake was delicious, but we arrived late and it was sold out ㅠㅠ Still, the chocolate cake was incredibly soft and moist, with just the right amount of sweetness, so it stayed delicious to the last bite.

The moment you taste it, you understand why Gluttony Coffee is known for delicious desserts among cafés near Jeju Airport haha. It was so good that we ended up taking home cake, cookies, and madeleines too... haha.

Gluttony Coffee is perfect from dessert to coffee, so it is the place I always tell acquaintances to visit when they ask for a café near Jeju Airport. I have never once been disappointed; the quality of the coffee and desserts has been consistently wonderful every time I visit, so I am planning to come back again next time ^^ If you are looking for a good café near Jeju Airport, I truly, absolutely recommend visiting ^^*
