Kid-friendly Yeosu café with high chairs: Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger

Today my little one and I went to a studio in Yi Sun-sin Square to take anniversary photos! After about an hour of shooting and picking shots, I was starving hahaha. And it just happened to be the perfect time for a snack!!! So we stopped by Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger, a well-known spot near Yi Sun-sin Square haha.

Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger sits right across from Jinnamgwan, the landmark of Yi Sun-sin Square in Yeosu!!

So it's really close to the Jinnamgwan parking lot, and also near the parking tower just behind the restaurant haha.

Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger has tables in front of the counter and window bar seats facing Jinnamgwan, plus baby chairs on hand.

Walking into Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger, a well-known dessert spot in Yeosu, there are plenty of tables right in front of the counter,

and cool window bar seats where you can eat while looking out at Jinnamgwan across the street!!

The menu features the shop's signature original Yeosu baguette burger, the tteungkarong (chubby macarons) that make a great snack, plus a really rich and delicious mugwort ice cream and various drinks — perfect for a light meal or snack!!

How to store and reheat the baguette burger and tteungkarong

We were too hungry and just ate ours right away, but if you're saving some for the next day's snack or breakfast, keep it refrigerated or in a cool spot, then warm it in a pan on low heat with no oil, or in an air fryer at 180°C for just 3–4 minutes! Absolutely no microwave!!! (It turns soggy and loses its flavor, ugh.) As for the tteungkarong, keep them in the fridge and take them out to sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before eating, they said haha.

What the baguette burger, tteungkarong, and Geomundo mugwort ice cream taste like

We ordered three things: the Jwasuyeong baguette burger, the Jwasuyeong tteungkarong, and the Geomun-do sea-wind mugwort ice cream.

Ta-da~~ They cook it fresh to order, but it didn't take as long as I expected!

Of course the first bite went to the Jwasuyeong baguette burger!! True to a baguette burger, the outside is crisp while the inside is moist and soft, with the baguette hollowed out and filled with tasty salad, meat, and vegetables — delicious from the very first bite hahaha. The meat and sauce are sweet and savory, an easy flavor for anyone to love, and the little bit of cheongyang chili gives a sharp kick of heat that keeps it from feeling greasy!!

And then the mugwort ice cream we bought together!! It exceeded expectations, with a chewy texture and so much mugwort packed in that the deep mugwort aroma lingered in my mouth to the very end! It's delicious on its own, but eating it together with the baguette that came alongside was seriously good too hahaha. Surprisingly, it went really well together?! Total plot twist!!

And then the Jwasuyeong tteungkarong!!

Since we had another plan to get to, we ate only the baguette burger in the café and asked to have the tteungkarong packed — they put it in a cooler bag with no extra charge haha. After we finished our plans, we cut it in half at home, and just looking at it the shell and filling were clearly packed full!!! Eating it cold from the fridge, it was seriously chewy and delicious. The filling was cool and soft and great, but honestly the super chewy, dense shell was really my style hahaha. I think I'll be reaching for the Yeosu Jwasuyeong baguette burger, the mugwort ice cream, and the Jwasuyeong tteungkarong as a snack again and again!
