Pork cutlet lunch with two kids near Magok Station: Tteudon Magok

Lunch at Magok Station on the way to Seoul Botanic Park

We took the kids on a rare trip up to Seoul haha! We landed at Gimpo Airport, checked out the aviation museum, stopped by Seoul Botanic Park, and since we were staying a night at the Mayfield Hotel, we decided to grab lunch near Magok Station, close to the park.

As country mice rarely up in Seoul, we were looking around for somewhere to eat and ended up going for the kids' favorite — pork cutlet lol. The place we visited this time was

Tteudon Magok Branch (뜨돈 마곡점) / 194 Gonghang-daero, Unit 216, Gangseo-gu, Seoul / Daily 10:30–21:00

It's on the second floor, and with so many shops around, the area near Magok Station turned out to be quite a lively district.

There's also a ₩1,000 discount event on weekday lunch cutlets, which might be handy to know!

Inside Tteudon Magok Branch and how to order at the kiosk

The interior of Tteudon Magok Branch was pretty clean. We came a bit after the lunch rush, but there were still quite a few diners when we walked in.

Since we had the kids with us, we took a table at the end by the window.

Ordering was easy through the kiosk.

What's on the self-bar at Tteudon Magok Branch?

The self-bar at Tteudon Magok Branch has soup, bread, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and more prepared. It was more well-stocked than I expected.

There were even kids' dishes and small plates you could grab from the self-bar.

Since there were bread rolls, we tried making pork cutlet burgers with the kids, and it turned out to be surprisingly fun lol.

The kids ate well since they made it themselves.

What we ordered with two kids

Our order arrived!

Tteudon set, 14,900 won

First, the Tteudon Set comes with udon, pork cutlet, and salad together for ₩14,900.

The kids ate the fish cake udon better than expected, so it was good for sharing with the cutlet. There were two skewered fish cakes plus lots of fried tofu and fish cake pieces.

The cutlet came out quite thick and crispy too. The kids loved that there was corn, which they always go for.

Tteudon pork cutlet, 12,900 won

Since it's the signature dish, we ordered it — the cutlet came thick with plenty of sauce on top. My older one ate it fine with all that sauce, but my younger one, who's only 4 and doesn't really know sauce flavors yet, mostly dug into the cutlet from the Tteudon Set instead lol.

Bacon cream spaghetti, 14,900 won

And the one I liked best was the bacon cream spaghetti I ordered, ₩14,900. It's cream spaghetti served together with a mini pork cutlet and salad.

I liked that you get to have both cutlet and pasta, and with bacon and broccoli mixed in, this was personally my favorite dish lol.

I was craving pasta more than cutlet anyway lol, and since I love cream pasta, I got to eat exactly what I wanted.

Making pork cutlet burgers with self-bar bread rolls

Since bread rolls were available at the Tteudon Magok Branch self-bar, we tried making pork cutlet burgers with the kids haha! Split the bread in half, tuck in a piece of cutlet, add a little salad, and — instant pork cutlet burger!

My older kid insisted on making one herself, and the younger one followed along, so the two of them each made and ate their own.

Being able to grab bread from the self-bar and make it themselves meant the kids had a great time eating.

Free ice cream to finish the meal

On the way out, we each made ourselves an ice cream at the ice cream bar.

With four flavors — chocolate, yogurt, strawberry, and green tea — the kids had fun picking their own.

Is Tteudon Magok Branch worth it with kids?

We came here while looking for somewhere to eat with the kids around Magok, and with a varied menu spanning pork cutlet, udon and pasta, plus the self-bar and ice cream, it was a good spot for a family meal.
