I went to Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets and ended up craving pizza and pasta, so I had a Western-food lunch :) The place I visited was Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets, a Western food spot in Gijang!

It's great for eating while shopping at the outlet, and I'd recommend it if you like pizza and pasta type dishes. It's located at the very far end of the 1st floor, so it was easy to find.

How busy is Bueokgan on a weekday late lunch?

Since it's inside the outlet, parking is easy, and you can shop and eat in one trip! It being a quiet weekday late lunch was a nice bonus.

The store overall had a clean, warm atmosphere. I expected it to feel super casual since it's a restaurant inside an outlet, but the vibe was actually more upscale than I thought, with pretty Nordic-style interior and decor.

The three dishes ordered at Bueokgan

• Napa cabbage Caesar salad

• Pepperoni pizza

This is what I ordered. Pizza and pasta alone can be a bit heavy, so I also ordered a salad on the side — and in the end, I was glad I did, haha. There were so many tasty-looking options that I had a hard time deciding.

Pepperoni pizza: fluffy pan-pizza dough and stretchy cheese

The pepperoni pizza looked delicious the moment it arrived, haha. Loaded with cheese and pepperoni, it was exactly the kind of pepperoni pizza I had in mind!

When I tried it, the crust wasn't thin and crispy — it was fluffy, like a pan pizza. I like that fluffy style too, so I enjoyed it a lot.

The cheese in particular was really chewy and stretchy. Lifting up a slice, the cheese pulled long strands, which made it fun to eat, haha. Fluffy dough, chewy cheese, salty pepperoni — they all went really well together.

Napa cabbage Caesar salad: tangy enough to work like a pickle

The napa cabbage was crunchy with great texture, and the Caesar dressing was tangier than I expected. It kind of played the role of a pickle, haha.

Basil pesto cream pasta: thick, rich sauce

The basil pesto cream pasta I'd been looking forward to! The sauce was rich and thick. I prefer cream pasta with a thick, rich sauce over a runny one, so this was right up my alley.

The noodles were well coated in cream sauce, so the first bite hit with a rich, savory cream flavor, followed by a subtle basil aroma. The basil pesto scent came through just enough and paired well with the cream sauce. Of everything I ate that day, the basil pesto cream pasta was probably my favorite. If you like a rich cream sauce, this one should suit your taste!

Who is Bueokgan best for?

If you like pizza or pasta, the menu is easy to choose from, and the clean interior makes it a solid pick for a family meal or a date. It's also great for when you're shopping like we were and can't decide what to eat, haha.

If you're in Gijang craving Western food and searching for a good spot, it's worth stopping by while you're at the outlet anyway. Next time I'm back at the outlet wanting pasta or pizza, I think Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets will come to mind again.
