In short
Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is a perilla oil jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) set restaurant in Chungung-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi. A weekend lunch visit meant nearly an hour of waiting for the perilla oil jjukkumi set at 13,000 won, served with hot-pot rice and clam seaweed soup, plus Han River ramyeon cooked on the in-store ramen machine through the Naver receipt review event. A Hanam jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) restaurant worth the trip: Jigueseo On Jjukkumi

Where is Jigueseo On Jjukkumi in Chungung-dong, Hanam? Easy to reach by car
I was out for a day trip around Hanam and stopped for lunch at Jigueseo On Jjukkumi, a well-known jjukkumi spot in the area. It's located in Chungung-dong, Hanam, more of a suburban feel than a downtown location, so it was easy to get to by car.

There's a decent amount of parking right in front, so I didn't have to stress about that at all. But it seems it really is a popular spot — even when I visited there was a crowd. I went on a weekend at lunchtime and there was a line ahead of me, so I waited nearly an hour before getting in, haha ㅠㅠ If you get takeout it's ₩10,000 per serving with no wait, so takeout honestly seems like great value.
Inside Jigueseo On Jjukkumi: a spacious, spotless dining room

Once inside, the place was bigger than I expected. It's bright and clean overall, and the tables are spaced well apart, so it's a good spot for a family meal! I saw quite a few families with kids there too.

The menu: the perilla oil jjukkumi set is the signature
Looking at the menu, there were plenty of seafood dishes — jjukkumi, braised monkfish, braised seafood, seafood stew — but the perilla oil jjukkumi set is clearly the signature dish! Jigueseo On uses domestic red pepper powder and makes its own sauce from apple, pear, shiitake mushroom, goji berry, schisandra berry, and more.

They also use perilla oil pressed at a local oil mill, and even sell bottles of it in a corner of the restaurant! I was curious how the perilla oil and jjukkumi combination would taste.
The banchan side dishes that come with the set

After ordering, the side dishes came out first — kimchi, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), salad, and several others, all served neatly and cleanly! With this many banchan (side dishes) laid out like a full traditional Korean spread, it felt like a proper, well-rounded meal.

A clam and seaweed soup came along too — since the jjukkumi is spicy, taking a spoonful of the soup in between bites helped cool down the heat!
How spicy is the jjukkumi? Hot but hard to stop eating
Then the main event arrived: the perilla oil jjukkumi set (₩13,000). The red sauce looked appetizing, and the jjukkumi came with onion and vegetables mixed in! Taking a bite, it was spicy but not just spicy — the sauce itself had sweetness and umami, so it was genuinely delicious, and the octopus was chewy-yet-tender rather than tough.
Mixing the jjukkumi straight into the rice

I put the jjukkumi and vegetables over rice, added some sauce, and mixed it all together — once the spicy sauce coats every grain of rice, it's an absolute rice-thief! Eating it mixed like this, almost like bibimbap, was so much better than eating the octopus bite by bite on its own, and the perilla oil gave it a subtle, nutty aroma.

Getting both the spicy and nutty flavors together made it feel different from a regular stir-fried jjukkumi dish — if you're looking for a great jjukkumi restaurant in Hanam, this one's worth trying!

Hot-pot rice and the sungnyung (toasted rice tea) to finish
Another thing I loved: the rice is served in a stone/hot pot! Lifting the lid reveals glossy, chewy, delicious rice, and finishing off with warm sungnyung (scorched rice tea) at the end left my stomach feeling settled! I'm a fan of restaurants that serve rice this way — the stickiness paired really well with the jjukkumi sauce.
Han River ramyeon from the Naver receipt review event

They're also running a Naver receipt review event — join in and you get to eat ramyeon, specifically Han River ramyeon, cooked yourself on an in-store ramen machine! Seeing a ramen machine like this in a restaurant felt a bit novel.

I was already pretty full from the jjukkumi and hot-pot rice, but you just can't pass up ramyeon, haha. After the spicy jjukkumi and then the ramyeon, I was seriously stuffed!
Worth it when you crave jjukkumi in Hanam?

This visit to Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch wasn't just about the stir-fried octopus — it was a full spread with banchan and hot-pot rice you could properly enjoy! The jjukkumi was chewy, the sauce was spicy with real umami depth, and the nutty perilla oil made it great mixed into rice. Getting to finish with sungnyung thanks to the stone-pot rice was another nice touch. That said, being a popular spot, expect a wait on weekends ㅠㅠ If you're craving something spicy in Hanam and looking for a great jjukkumi restaurant, give Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch a try!
