Seodaemun hair salon volume magic and gray roots: Salon de Supullim
In short
Salon de Supullim is a hair salon in Seodaemun, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Seodaemun Station Exit 2 and spread across the whole 3rd floor. Designer Ha-eun took on semi-curly hair and did volume magic straightening, a cut and gray root color on the front hairline in one visit, with three shampoo rounds along the way. Left down, the hair settled into a calm, swishy finish that made the visit well worth it.

My hair is fairly wavy, so on hot and humid days it's tough to wear it down — I spent all summer with it up in a high bun. Once the cool wind started blowing, I felt like changing things up, so I booked a visit to Salon de Supullim, a hair salon near Seodaemun Station, and walked out with a clean, successful transformation.

Along with the volume magic straightening, my uneven length got a neat trim too. Once the wavy, frizzy strands were smoothed straight down, my hair actually looked longer than before the cut — a change I really noticed.

Where is Salon de Supullim, and what are its hours?
Salon de Supullim is a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Seodaemun Station, so it was easy to find. It's convenient not just for people moving around Seodaemun but also for anyone looking for a hair salon near Chungjeongno or Gwanghwamun. Since I get around on foot, accessibility to the subway matters to me almost as much as the service itself.

After confirming my reservation, designer Ha-eun showed me to my seat.

The salon uses the entire 3rd floor, so it feels spacious with a relaxed, calm atmosphere — comfortable for getting a treatment done.

Consultation for semi-curly hair: why volume magic was recommended
After I sat down and explained my hair concerns and the style I wanted, Ha-eun carefully checked my hair condition first. She recommended smoothing out the semi-perm waviness while keeping a slight, natural volume at the front rather than making it lie completely flat — hence volume magic straightening. She also suggested tackling the grays creeping in with a root touch-up at the same time. Since I'd come in with my hair tied up, she started with a light shampoo before the straightening treatment.
How the volume magic straightening was done, step by step
At Salon de Supullim, the process started with a light shampoo and blow-dry, followed by a thorough application of the straightening solution all over. She said the ends still had some texture left from a previous straightening treatment that might not take the curl properly, so she rolled those sections onto thick rods.

After the solution was applied, I waited a bit while it processed with heat treatment and softening.

I enjoyed a warm Americano and cookies I love while waiting, and before I knew it, it was time for the second shampoo.

Since drying right after a shampoo can leave hair dry, she applied a moisture protectant and misted it evenly using a machine. After that came the pressing step, where she used a flat iron to smooth everything out finely.
Gray root color along the front hairline

Right after the volume magic straightening, she moved straight into a root touch-up color at the front to cover the grays. I'd always worried about how much hair fell out when I shampooed or brushed, but going through the treatment, it turned out I actually had a lot more hair than I thought — while applying the dye, she even ran out of the color she'd prepared and had to bring more, which put my mind at ease.

Shampoo room and scalp massage at Salon de Supullim
There was a shampoo room right next to my seat, and other shampoo stations set up elsewhere in the salon too. The chair was comfortable and Ha-eun gave a satisfying scalp massage, so I went through all three shampoo rounds very comfortably.
After the final shampoo, she dried my hair thoroughly. Once the long journey of volume magic straightening + cut + root touch-up was done, seeing my glossy, neat hair made me really glad I'd come in for a refresh.

How the hair looked after volume magic at Salon de Supullim
This visit to a Seodaemun hair salon wasn't just about changing my style — it was about sorting out things that had been bothering me and getting help from Ha-eun to manage my hair more easily going forward, which left me very satisfied. My hair looks calmer than before when worn down, and with the front grays covered too, I got exactly the clean look I wanted — a total success.
