Sunday is burger day — I'll insist on that no matter what. Dating someone who loves burgers means eating them has become second nature to me by now. We thought about McDonald's, but decided to try a new burger place instead, and that's how we found Bas Burger, a Gyeyang District Office favorite!
There are actually a lot of places to eat near Gyeyang District Office, but surprisingly few that feel comfortable for solo dining. Bas Burger Gyeyang District Office Branch is great for eating alone, and the food is really good too, so I wanted to recommend it!
Where is Bas Burger Gyeyang District Office Branch, and is there parking?
Bas Burger Gyeyang District Office Branch sits directly across from Gyeyang District Office. You can park in the underground lot inside the building! That said, it can fill up depending on when you visit, so it's a good idea to check nearby public parking lots ahead of time too.
The menu board greeted us as soon as we walked in. There were more menu items than I expected, which threw me off for a second, but I quickly scanned through it like a pro.
There's a kiosk too, so you can order comfortably! And here's a self-service tip — there's a service table, and free potato chips are up for grabs there~
Free potato chips you serve yourself
Ta-da! You can see piles of potato chips stacked up like this. I think this might actually be the core of what makes Bas Burger special.
They're really salty and crunchy — potato chips in their purest form! Delicious on their own, and even better dipped in the ketchup sitting nearby. This delicious thing being free and unlimited is exactly why Bas Burger comes up as a Gyeyang District Office favorite.
What the restaurant looks and feels like
The seating was spacious too, so it's good for coming with kids or on a date as a couple. They even sell craft beer, so it kind of felt like an American burger joint?
After ordering our burgers, we grabbed a small plate of potato chips first to snack on before the meal.

Our burgers came out quickly! The basic Bas Burger set, the Double Bacon Cheese Burger set, and — because I really wanted the mozza cheese bars — the Double Crunch, which was probably a bit greedy of us!
Double Bacon Cheese Burger set
The Double Bacon Cheese Burger has exactly what it sounds like — bacon, a beef patty, and two slices of cheddar cheese! It's got that charming combination of rich and savory at the same time.
And the buns at Bas Burger are so soft and fluffy — not dry at all, which I really appreciated. The beef patty was packed with juice too, and eating it made me think, hmm, this is what a real handmade burger tastes like! If you want to experience the charm of a handmade burger, I recommend the Double Bacon Cheese Burger.
The plain Bas Burger
What I ordered was the most basic option, the Bas Burger. It comes with a beef patty, cheddar cheese, house sauce, and I swapped the onion for grilled onion! It's a safe, classic choice, and since it's the restaurant's signature menu item, I made sure to order it.
And my beloved fries 🤍 Normally I'd polish these off completely, but since there were potato chips here too, I felt a little bad leaving some behind.
Double Crunch: one order is enough for two
This is the Double Crunch, which comes with two mozza cheese bars, four pieces of crunch chicken, a mini bun, and coleslaw. Honestly, ordering just this alone would be enough for two people to share. But we were so hungry at the time that we lost all sense of judgment...
But this crunch chicken is seriously insane. Bas Burger is known for handmade burgers, but the chicken was delicious too? I need to try the chicken burger next time.
The crunch chicken is exactly what it says — crunchy! The skin is crispy while the chicken breast stays moist~ Freshly fried chicken is bound to be delicious, I guess.
Our breakfast-turned-lunch table, completely full. Let's just say it's no secret that we ended up packing up leftovers after ordering all this haha.

Oh right! Bas Burger also has a nice variety of 5 sauces. I'd recommend the Myeonghan sauce and honey mustard! You can grab them for takeout or while dining in, so don't forget to grab some~
