I visited Dalgeuraem (달그램), which has been getting a lot of buzz lately as a salt bread spot in Gyesan-dong 🥐 Just a heads up — there's no dedicated parking in front of the store, so I'd recommend using a nearby public parking lot or public transit. Knowing this in advance should make your visit a lot smoother.

Dalgeuraem's salt bread lineup and the feel of the room

The moment I walked in, the display case packed with all kinds of bread caught my eye.

I've never seen a bakery café in Gyesan-dong with this much variety in salt bread, so I had the happy problem of not knowing what to pick.

With the wood-toned interior and warm lighting, the inside felt really cozy. It's not a big space, but the quiet, snug atmosphere made it even more comfortable.

The window seats got great natural light, making them pretty for photos, and the vibe was just right for catching up with a friend.

How the chili salt bread and milk vanilla cream salt bread taste

The first thing I picked was the chili salt bread. Crispy outside, chewy and soft inside — the first bite told me right away this bread was seriously good. The chili's subtle heat kept me reaching for more; it was almost addictive.

Second was the milk vanilla cream salt bread, and it had that same crispy-outside, chewy-inside texture, which made it clear the dough here is just well made overall. The soft vanilla cream wasn't too sweet — just the right amount — and it paired really well with the salty, chewy bread.

For drinks I ordered the black sesame cream latte, and the nutty black sesame flavor really came through strong. Paired with the bread, it never felt heavy — I could keep going.

I also had a sip of my friend's basil tomato ade, and the subtle basil aroma with a refreshing tang was quite unique and appealing. It seems like it would be even more refreshing in summer.

Switching back and forth between the chili salt bread and the vanilla cream salt bread, comparing the spicy and sweet, was genuinely fun. Both had that chewy texture as a baseline, but each had its own distinct charm, which made me want to try other varieties next time.

Looking at the menu, besides signature drinks like the vanilla bean cream latte, peanut cream latte, and black sesame cream latte, there was a wide range of ades too — lemon ade, grapefruit ade, flat peach ade — plus teas like apple yuzu tea and Earl Grey. It made me want to try something different on my next visit.

Weekday afternoon seating and parking at Dalgeuraem

Chatting away with my friend over tasty bread and drinks, I lost track of time. Even on a weekday afternoon, the seats were pretty full, which made it clear why this place is getting a name for itself in Gyesan-dong. It's not far from Gyesan Station Exit 3, so it's easy enough to get to, and it's in the alley between a gas station and A Twosome Place, so it wasn't hard to find. That said, as I mentioned, there's no parking space right in front, so if you're planning to drive, I'd recommend checking a nearby public parking lot beforehand.

From chili salt bread to vanilla cream salt bread to black sesame cream latte and basil tomato ade, it was a satisfying, well-rounded café outing.

Both the bread and the drinks were satisfying across the board, so my friend and I both picked this as our next hangout spot. If you're looking for a new café in Gyesan-dong or have been curious about the salt bread spot everyone's talking about, I'd definitely recommend visiting Dalgeuraem 🥐 And if you're often in this area, add Dalgeuraem to your salt bread list. It's still early days since opening, so it's not that well known yet, but I have a feeling it'll soon become one of the go-to bakeries in Gyesan-dong.
