As the weather cooled down, I went looking for a bar near Suwon Station with outdoor seating and ended up at Paldal Jutaek.

It had been ages since I had managed to coordinate schedules with my friends, so we took a little outing near Suwon Station. The bustle of Rodeo Street is nice too, but sometimes you just want a cozier, more atmospheric place for a heartfelt conversation.
Paldal Jutaek was great for a drink on a cool evening, with outdoor tables and the feel of an old house converted into a venue. That day, we ordered Bulnae Hanpan, one of Paldal Jutaek's signature drinking snacks.
With no fewer than four dishes on one platter—grilled webfoot octopus, pork intestines, boneless chicken feet, and pork bulgogi—it was perfect for a day when we wanted to sample a little of several snacks. For anyone looking for a Suwon Station bar or outdoor drinking spot, I'll share everything from the atmosphere to the menu.

An even better Suwon Station outdoor bar on a cool day
The outdoor space was what caught my eye most at Paldal Jutaek. When the evening breeze starts to turn cool like it has lately, don't you just want to sit outside rather than indoors?
Tables are set up in the outdoor area inside the house, making it lovely for a drink outside whenever the weather cooperates. Because the space feels like a converted house, it was different from a typical Suwon Station outdoor bar where passersby are constantly going by.
Rather than being overly flashy, it had a comfortable, cozy mood, so it seemed good for friends and perfectly fine for a casual date too. Personally, in weather like this, isn't outdoor seating itself the drinking snack?
What's included in Bulnae Hanpan?
I'd seen lots of reviews of Bulnae Hanpan before visiting, so my expectations were pretty high. True to its name, it is a platter of four fire-grilled dishes full of smoky flavor.
- Grilled webfoot octopus
- Pork intestines
- Boneless chicken feet
- Pork bulgogi
It was such a good setup for those times when picking just one dish is difficult.

All four kinds arrive together on one iron plate, so it looked quite generous the moment it hit the table, and it was fun for everyone to choose their favorite. When several people are drinking, I prefer being able to pick at a variety of things rather than eating one menu item the whole time, so I especially loved the Bulnae Hanpan setup.
And it was only ₩28,000...! The portion was seriously huge—we couldn't finish it between two peopleㅠㅠ The taste was the best too.

From grilled webfoot octopus to pork intestines
First, the grilled webfoot octopus had a chewy texture, spicy seasoning, and smoky flavor that made it a great drinking snack.

The boneless chicken feet were easy to eat since there were no bones to pick around. If you have a friend who loves spicy food, I think they would keep reaching for this one.

The pork intestines retained their distinctive springy chew, making them fun to eat,

while the pork bulgogi had a more familiar, gently sweet flavor that was nice to eat between the spicy dishes.

The different textures and flavors within one platter meant I never got tired of it until the end. In particular, the gentle smoky flavor running through everything, as you'd expect from fire-grilled dishes, made it taste far more like something that calls for a drink than ordinary spicy stir-fries.

Pairing Bulnae Hanpan with rice balls
And you can't leave out jumeokbap (hand-formed rice balls) with spicy drinking snacks like these. Bulnae Hanpan is good on its own, but I would recommend ordering rice balls alongside it.
A bite of nutty rice balls amid the rich, spicy seasoning brought the balance right into place. They also went beautifully with a little webfoot octopus or pork bulgogi from the Bulnae Hanpan on top.
It was a good pairing for when drinking alone feels a little incomplete, but ordering a separate meal feels like too much. I think I'd order the Bulnae Hanpan + rice balls combination exactly the same way next time!

If you're looking for outdoor seating near Suwon Station
The food was excellent, but the atmosphere of the space played a big role too. Having a drink while sitting on the terrace and feeling the cool evening breeze was pure healing.
With the soft lighting around us, it created a romantic, almost movie-like scene, so it looked just as good for a date. Even though it was an outdoor space, the tables were spaced nicely, making it very comfortable to talk with friends.
If you're looking for a recommended place to eat near Suwon Station, I really hope you'll visit at least once. This weather right now! Today is the day! Being able to spend time outside makes me think of it even more as the season turns cool. The evening air is just right for outdoor drinks lately, so go before it's too late :)
