Kiosk vs menu prices at a Guro Station jokbal restaurant: The Jokbal
In short
The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch is a jokbal (braised pork trotter) restaurant on the first floor of the Sindorim Prugio 3-cha commercial building, about a 10-minute walk from Guro Station and Sindorim Station in Seoul. The writer ordered the half-and-half front leg jokbal (spicy) for 52,000 won and a rice ball for 3,000 won, which came with cold jokbal, cabbage soup and Jeju winter radish kimchi as the standard spread, and noticed the in-store kiosk prices ran 2,000–3,000 won higher than the printed menu. The smoky heat of the spicy half ranked in the writer's personal top three, so the half-and-half order is the one to get at The Jokbal.

Seating and atmosphere: is The Jokbal good for a team dinner?
The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch has around 10 tables, and the interior is divided up by walls, which looked good for group gatherings or company dinners.

Menu and prices: watch the kiosk price gap
Jokbal comes as front leg or hind leg, and in spicy or garlic flavor, and they also sell bossam (boiled pork wraps). The jokbal prices on the menu board were about ₩2,000–3,000 cheaper than what showed up on the in-store kiosk. Worth knowing before you visit.

The standard spread: Jeju winter radish kimchi and cabbage soup
Fresh lettuce wraps, chives, radish kimchi. Order, wait a bit, and they bring out the default spread.

They say The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch only uses 15 premium, pricey ingredients. The radish kimchi in particular had a lovely sweet-and-cool taste. They use fresh winter radish grown in Jeju, made in-house and low-temperature aged.

And then a taster portion of cold jokbal (naengchae jokbal) too! With that tangy mustard sauce and a sour kick, it really wakes up your appetite.

And warm, spicy-ish cabbage soup comes as part of the default spread too. As a soup lover, I was so happy about this +_+

Half-and-half front leg jokbal (spicy), 52,000 won, plus a 3,000-won rice ball
Rice ball ₩3,000. Gotta have carbs, so I ordered a rice ball. It's a simple rice ball topped generously with seasoned seaweed flakes and furikake.
Half-and-half front leg jokbal (spicy) ₩52,000. Before it arrived, I thought ₩52,000 for jokbal alone, with no other side dishes, was a bit pricey. But once it came out, the portion was huge. Also, if you take part in the Naver review event, you get a free small mak-guksu (buckwheat noodles)!

The plain front leg jokbal: how tender is the lean meat?
The plain front leg jokbal is glossy and huge in size. Taking a bite, ah — I get why it's pricey. It was the softest jokbal meat I've had all year.

It's tasty dipped in salted shrimp sauce, but eating it wrapped with chives, radish kimchi, and lettuce cuts the fattiness and makes it light and clean.

The spicy jokbal: smoky heat that ranks in my top three
It'd be a shame to only eat the plain jokbal. The spicy one is truly the real deal,,, one bite and that spicy, smoky sauce flavor spread through my mouth, instant dopamine hit +_+ It's got that fire-torched flavor all over. The seasoning is nicely spicy without tasting artificial.

I'd rank this among the top 3 spiciest jokbal I've had in my life. It's genuinely delicious, so I highly recommend ordering it as a half-and-half.
Why The Jokbal works for a group dinner in Sindorim or Guro
A great restaurant is often just one step above the rest. I love jokbal and eat it often, and this place felt especially good. Apparently the chef, with 30 years at the Chosun Hotel, personally developed everything from the side dishes to the jokbal itself, and eating it, I could see why. They use top-grade ingredients and boil and sell the jokbal the same day, so it felt extra fresh. If you're looking for a company dinner, gathering spot, or a great jokbal restaurant in Sindorim or Guro, I recommend The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch.
