Cheonan brunch café for perilla cream risotto after a hike: Siyudang
In short
Siyudang is a large brunch café in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan, just below Taehaksan Recreational Forest. After hiking to the Taehaksan summit on a Sunday morning, the writer ordered beef, scallion and perilla leaf cream risotto, a half-and-half potato and pepperoni pizza and lemonade at Siyudang, then walked through the 4th-floor garden with its flowers and windmill. A morning hike followed by lunch at Siyudang makes for a full, easy day out.

On a Sunday morning my husband and I went on a light outing to Cheonan. We first stopped by Taehaksan Recreational Forest, and on the way down headed to Siyudang, a brunch café in Cheonan. We'd heard it was big with a pretty garden, so we went in with some expectations — and once we got there, it really was a treat for the eyes, with windmills and flowers all mixed together."

What Siyudang looks like inside and out, and is there parking?
Arriving at Siyudang, the first thing that caught my eye was the large building exterior. There's parking in front and outdoor tables too. Near the entrance there's also a menu board, so it was nice to browse the menu before going in.

Once inside, there was a wide variety of breads next to the first-floor counter, and lots of guests ordering brunch.

The 2nd and 3rd floor seating areas were pretty spacious overall, so they looked comfortable for families, and I noticed several guests with kids. If you're looking for a Cheonan café where you can eat a meal, have coffee, and just stay a while, this seems like a solid choice.
Siyudang's 4th-floor garden with flowers and a windmill
What impressed me most at Siyudang was definitely the outdoor garden and windmill. Going up to the upper level, there were so many colorful flowers in bloom, with a white windmill sitting right in the middle — really pretty for photos.
There's a path you can walk through between the flowers, and a small house-shaped photo spot too, so it was fun to wander around slowly.
Beef, scallion and perilla leaf cream risotto and the potato-pepperoni half-and-half pizza
From where we sat, we could see a whole cluster of orange flowers through the window, and my eyes kept drifting there while we ate brunch.
Sitting across from my husband, eating while looking at the flowers and mountain scenery outside, brunch felt more relaxed than usual. It made me think Siyudang is less a place to just eat and more a Cheonan brunch café where you enjoy the view along with the food.

We ordered one beef scallion perilla leaf cream risotto, one potato and pepperoni half-and-half pizza, and a lemonade. The beef scallion perilla leaf cream risotto came out on a big plate, really generously portioned. There was plenty of beef on top of the soft cream base, and finely chopped perilla leaf mixed in generously too. Cream risotto can get heavy, but the subtle perilla leaf aroma balanced the flavor nicely.

The pepperoni side had a nice salty flavor, and the potato side was a bit more savory and mild, so alternating between the two kept it from getting boring. The potato half especially was piled on generously, so even one pizza felt like a full portion. Ordering the risotto and pizza together was plenty filling for two, and it made for a solid brunch spread.
How the lemonade rounded out brunch at Siyudang
The lemonade had ice and lemon in it, and just looking at it felt refreshing.

After eating something a bit rich like the cream risotto or pizza, sipping lemonade in between refreshed the palate — the pairing worked well.

Above all, drinking lemonade at a window seat while looking at the flowers made it taste even better than usual. Eating while watching the flowers, and looking further out at the windmill, felt less like a meal and more like a short trip.
Is Siyudang worth it? Final verdict on this Cheonan brunch café
Siyudang isn't just about the brunch menu — the spacious layout and garden make it a great weekend outing spot. If you're looking for a good Cheonan café or a photogenic Cheonan brunch café, it's worth a visit at least once.

Families with kids especially could make good use of the time — walking the garden after the meal and taking photos in front of the flowers and windmill. We also didn't just eat and leave; we went outside and spent some relaxed time wandering the garden.
Hiking Taehaksan Recreational Forest: how hard is the climb to the summit?
That day, our start actually wasn't Siyudang but Taehaksan. We left a bit early on Sunday morning, first stopped by Taehaksan Recreational Forest, and started the hike thinking we'd just take it easy. But once we got going, we got ambitious and ended up going all the way to the summit.

The trail was well-connected through forest paths, with stone steps and rocky sections here and there, so it wasn't an entirely light hike. The final stretch up to the summit especially was a bit tough, but climbing step by step, we found ourselves at the top before we knew it. Seeing the Taehaksan summit marker gave us an odd sense of pride. From the summit, mountains and the city stretched out in the distance, making it a nice spot to rest and take in the view.
Taehaksan Recreational Forest has well-maintained woods and spots worth exploring with kids, so it looked like a good family outing spot too. After finishing the hike and coming down, we started getting hungry, and moving on to Siyudang for brunch made the food taste even better.

A morning stroll or hike at Taehaksan Recreational Forest followed by lunch at Siyudang, a Cheonan brunch café, seems like it would fill a day quite nicely. Enjoying the scenery on the mountain and then a delicious brunch while looking at the flowers and windmill at the café made for a really pleasant Sunday outing for us.
