It had been a while since my last trip to Gyeongju! While looking for a special café, I found Bibibidang Gyeongju. It sits on the first floor of Uyang Museum inside the Hilton, so it's a great stop for tea or dessert after touring the museum. Parking at the Hilton lot also made it easy to visit by car.

White-toned interior and teacup displays at Bibibidang

The first thing I noticed walking in was the clean, white-toned interior. It felt tidy and uncluttered, yet decorated here and there with teacups, giving it a different mood from your average café.

The area decorated with teacups was especially striking — if you love tea, you'll enjoy just browsing this atmosphere.

Toward the window you can see an outdoor space, and with the warm sunlight streaming in, the indoor mood felt even cozier ..🤍 On a nice day, it would be lovely to sit at the outdoor tables and take your time.

Bibibidang's tea menu and goods for sale

Bibibidang Gyeongju's menu isn't just tea and coffee — the desserts are varied too. They sell cakes, cookies and baked goods like croissants, so it was easy to pick a simple snack to go with coffee.

On one side they also sell goods, which come gift-wrapped, so it was nice to browse for gifts too.

While waiting for my order to be packed, I looked around the space and got to watch the tea being brewed, which was oddly fun.

Cheongwol cream matcha and gugija tea, tasted

What we ordered

The Cheongwol cream matcha comes in a cup shaped like a moon jar, with vivid green matcha topped with soft cream — beautiful just to look at. The bitterness of the matcha paired with the smooth cream made it easy to drink without feeling too heavy.

The seasonal yanggaeng (sweet bean jelly) that came with it was a yuzu version, and its refreshing taste paired well with the matcha. It was small and perfectly square, so cute ..💛 I felt bad eating it but it was so good I gobbled it right up ,,ㅎ

The gugija (goji berry) tea is steamed and dried nine times, they say, which draws out a deep sweetness. It arrived in a cute jar-shaped teacup with a fish-shaped coaster, making the whole tea-drinking moment feel pretty.

The yanggaeng came in yuzu and strawberry flavors, good for nibbling alongside the tea. The flower-shaped yanggaeng were so cute ..🌸💗 If you prefer traditional-style desserts to eat with tea rather than something purely sweet, this will suit you.

Bibibidang Gyeongju's popular menu items also include sweet pumpkin bingsu (shaved ice) and dawan coffee, so I'd like to try those on my next visit.

Why Bibibidang is worth a stop in Gyeongju's Bomun district

Gyeongju Bomun has plenty of sights, restaurants and cafés, but if you want tea and dessert in a slightly different atmosphere, I'd recommend Bibibidang Gyeongju. It pairs nicely with a visit to Uyang Museum, and from the interior to the teacups to the desserts, there's plenty to look at, making it a good place to linger.

If you're looking for a quiet spot for tea during your Gyeongju trip, or a pretty café near Gyeongju Bomun, it's worth a stop. With the sunlit windows and outdoor tables, visiting on a nice day would make for an even more relaxed time.
