Cheongdam izakaya with Korean beef striploin steak: Osa Cheongdam
In short
Osa Cheongdam is a dining izakaya on Seolleung-ro 152-gil in Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul, a short walk from Apgujeongrodeo Station. Meeting her husband after a day of fieldwork, the writer ordered Korean beef striploin steak, a half-order of seasonal sashimi futomaki (thick sushi roll) and Ebisu draft beer, and the eggplant tempura starter came with one free refill. Osa Cheongdam looked like a place that traded on atmosphere alone, but the food held up, and the writer plans to return for the Jeju golden threadfin bream.

Today was a day for work errands in Gangnam. My husband's office happens to be in Cheongdam too, and I had business in Cheongdam-dong myself, so we stopped by Osa Cheongdam, a Cheongdam izakaya famous for its atmosphere. Osa Cheongdam has such an upscale vibe, it's genuinely great for a date. Coming out for a date somewhere this nice after a while, my love just kept welling up >_< Let me review Cheongdam's go-to izakaya, Osa Cheongdam, right now :)
What the atmosphere is like at Osa Cheongdam, a Cheongdam dining izakaya
Osa Cheongdam is a Cheongdam dining izakaya on the 2nd floor of 37 Seolleung-ro 152-gil. With its upscale atmosphere, coming to a place this nice after a while just makes love bloom haha. Osa Cheongdam has exactly that Cheongdam-dong izakaya feel.

Pretty whether it's bright out or dark. A place that's really good at winning women's hearts.

Reserving a window seat at Osa Cheongdam and what we ordered
At Osa Cheongdam, you can sit by the window if you reserve ahead. There are also rooms prepared on the other side :) The menu is super varied. Everything looked delicious, so honestly it was hard to choose. We ordered the Osa futomaki (half order), Korean beef striploin steak, and Ebisu draft beer :)

The eggplant tempura starter and Ebisu draft beer
At Osa Cheongdam, the starter that comes standard is eggplant tempura. It's such a nice starter and appetizer, really whets your appetite. You can get one free refill :)

The Ebisu draft beer came out first. First time trying Ebisu draft, and the malty aroma is great. A beer with a rich, deep barley scent. Work today was tough but... it all just melts away with one sip of beer. And there's my dashing husband sitting right across from me ♥

The delicious food arrived. Wow, gorgeous even just to look at. A space with such an upscale feel, plus visually stunning food — pure happiness. Osa Cheongdam, impossible for women not to love.

Is the Korean beef striploin steak at Osa Cheongdam worth it?
The Korean beef striploin steak at Osa Cheongdam comes already sliced, so it's easy to eat comfortably. Time to nourish ourselves with beef after all our hard work.

Cooked exactly the way I like it. My husband prefers medium-well but he always defers to me — what a husband. The meat is incredibly tender. It's rested properly and comes out soft and delicious :)

Doenjang sauce, one of the three steak sauces
There are three sauces to choose from. I usually just eat steak with salt, but at Osa Cheongdam I went with the doenjang (fermented soybean paste) sauce. The savory umami of that doenjang sauce is no joke. Absolutely delicious.

The vegetables served as garnish were delicious too. Both my husband and I love grilled vegetables, and these were just as good as the meat :)

How big is the half-order of seasonal sashimi futomaki?
Osa Cheongdam's futomaki (thick seaweed roll) is made with seasonal sashimi, and since you can order a half portion, that's what we got.

This is the biggest futomaki I've ever seen! The size is no joke. A bit much for a regular date, but we're married, so we're all about this size.

Big chunks of fried shrimp are packed in, along with tuna and a white fish too. Completely delicious. It's thick enough that one piece alone feels satisfying.

The sauce that came with it was truffle sauce. Lovely truffle aroma :) It pairs so well with the creamy sauce on this futomaki. My husband, a futomaki lover, was munching away saying it's delicious.

The open-ceiling terrace and charcoal-grilled fish at Osa Cheongdam
Osa Cheongdam opens up the ceiling, and they even hand out mosquito repellent. I didn't see any mosquitoes so I didn't bother spraying. So thoughtful — with the weather these days, having the ceiling open just makes it even better. Cool breeze drifting through, such a nice mood.

On our way out, we saw them grilling fish over charcoal. Oh — so that's why grilled fish takes so long. Next time I want to come back for the Jeju golden threadfin bream.
Osa Cheongdam, a Cheongdam favorite — I thought it was just about the atmosphere, but the food is incredibly delicious too. That's probably why it's getting talked about more as a Cheongdam restaurant than just a date spot. The openness from the retractable ceiling and that cool breeze on the terrace alone gave 100% satisfaction. I recommend Osa Cheongdam, a Cheongdam izakaya worth visiting :)
