Gangnam Station fusion Korean dinner after an 8pm wait: Moa Gangnam

I met up with friends near Gangnam Station last week! While looking for a good Korean restaurant around Gangnam Station, I found Moa Gangnam, a fusion Korean spot — and it's genuinely, genuinely good!! Reservations were already full until 7:30pm even on a weekday, so I ended up going at the later time of 8pm. Even then, most tables were taken and I had to wait a bit. A true hidden gem!

Where Moa Gangnam is and when it opens

Moa Gangnam is on the ground floor of the Geumseong Building at Teheran-ro 5-gil 31, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's open daily 11:00 - 22:00, with a break time from 15:30 - 17:00 and last order at 21:00.

There's no parking in the building itself, but Yeoksam Culture Park Public Parking Lot No. 2 is a 2-minute walk away!

It's a Korean fusion restaurant!! I visited with a reservation, but if you come without one, you can register for a wait through Table Managing. It's such a hot spot that I'd really recommend booking ahead! Also, please note that when the place is fully booked, your table time is limited to 90 minutes~~

The four dishes three of us ordered

The food quality is great but the prices are more reasonable than you'd expect, so after some deliberating, the three of us ordered four dishes! haha

• Perilla oil salted seafood pasta
• Doenjang bulgogi arancini
• Gochu chicken
• Arugula cheese potato pancake

That's what we ordered haha. Coming as a group of three and sharing several dishes was so nice haha

Moa's signature appetizer: crispy fried risotto served with doenjang (fermented soybean paste)

The plating alone is gorgeous — looks like Western food but it's Korean lol

Inside the arancini, meat and rice are fried until crispy, and on the outside there's the doenjang sauce..!! Really inventive but it was actually delicious?

Perilla oil salted seafood pasta (15,800 won)

A savory, nutty pasta with umami from pollack roe and salted flounder guts, and texture from whole perilla seeds

This pasta was so salty-savory and the flavor of the salted seafood was insane!

We scraped this one clean too lol

Arugula cheese potato pancake (16,900 won)

A golden-brown cheese potato pancake piled high with pepperoni, arugula, and Grana Padano cheese

This one is genuinely my favorite... and out of everything we ate, it felt the most fusion. A crispy potato pancake with arugula pizza + pepperoni pizza + gorgonzola pizza flavors. But surprisingly, it all came together in harmony and was really delicious

The most fusion of all the fusion dishes! This was my favorite for how distinctive it was. I'm sure I'll add this one again next time haha

Kkwari dak-gangjeong, crispy sweet chicken (18,900 won)

Crispy fried chicken wrapped around gochu (Korean chili peppers), glazed in a shiny, sweet-and-spicy soy sauce!!

Isn't the look of this insane? It's a pretty bold flavor, in a delicious way. Sweet + salty + spicy

Is Moa Gangnam a good spot for a group dinner?

Moa Gangnam really is a true hidden gem — we left very satisfied. My friends who came along said they were glad to have discovered such a great place. Every single dish had its own character and was delicious, so it's a great place for special occasions and also seems like a good spot for a date haha. I'll definitely be back.
