Rice bowls and pork samhap in Eojin-dong, Sejong: Bapkkot Hansang

A few days ago, on my husband's day off, we went on a little date to Bapkkot Hansang (밥꽃한상), a Korean restaurant in Eojin-dong, Sejong that's known as a local favorite 🙂

Bapkkot Hansang in Eojin-dong, Sejong is also well known as a Korean restaurant near the Government Complex and Lake Park 🙏🏻 The prices are really reasonable, but the food composition and taste are excellent, so it's always busy with customers regardless of lunch or dinner time :) They also have baby chairs ready, so families can eat comfortably too.

Is there a wait at lunch? Reservation tips for Bapkkot Hansang

The restaurant is big, but so many Government Complex staff come to eat at lunchtime that there's always a wait if you don't reserve ahead. I visited for a late lunch and was able to sit right down after reserving, but there was a continuous wait behind us. By the time we finished eating, a lot of the crowd had cleared out.

If you're in a hurry at lunchtime, I recommend reserving ahead. If you order your menu in advance too, the food comes out right on time and you can start eating immediately 👍🏻

Each table comes pre-set, and you order from a tablet at your seat. There's also a review event, so keep that in mind 🙂

I noticed the prices on the tablet menu and the wall menu at Bapkkot Hansang were different. They've changed, so make sure to check the tablet or Naver for current prices 👀

Octopus and shrimp rice bowl, 15,000 won

Bapkkot Hansang is a place my family and I visit fairly often too, and this octopus-shrimp rice bowl is my favorite. It's 15,000 won.

This Eojin-dong, Sejong favorite serves each order as an individual table setting, so you get your own side dishes too — great for hygiene 👍🏻 The octopus-shrimp rice bowl especially is loaded with really plump shrimp and octopus, so it's a dish I highly recommend.

Minari tteokgalbi rice bowl, 14,000 won: soy sauce or gochujang

My husband ordered the minari (water celery) tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty) rice bowl, 14,000 won (gochujang flavor). There are two flavors, soy sauce and gochujang, and he went with the spicy one. It felt like eating bibimbap, and wow, this was really delicious too. I'd already tried the tteokgalbi on its own at Bapkkot Hansang and knew it was good, but it was just as delicious as a rice bowl.

If you come with young kids, the soy sauce version would be great for feeding them too.

Both the octopus bowl and the tteokgalbi bowl look red on the surface, but the base flavors are completely different, so eating them together gave a nice variety 🧡

The octopus is really plump and big, and the shrimp are so huge too, so with every bite you get that pop of seafood flavor in your mouth — this is my favorite menu item. On top of that, the amount of shrimp and octopus just kept coming no matter how much we ate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Herbal boiled pork samhap, 20,000 won

Herbal boiled pork samhap (herbal sujuk-style pork), 20,000 won. I'd had the boiled pork before, but this time I ordered the samhap, and the combination of cockle salad, aged kimchi, and boiled pork was truly a work of art 🤍🤍

The pork had a subtle herbal aroma rising off it, and it was so tender and delicious 😆

Is Bapkkot Hansang worth it for Korean food in Sejong?

My husband and I left Bapkkot Hansang, our favorite spot in Eojin-dong, Sejong, absolutely stuffed and having eaten really well 🤍 If you're looking for great value, really delicious Korean food in Sejong, I definitely, definitely recommend visiting :)

It's the genuine local favorite I always mention when telling friends about good places to eat in Sejong, so if you're looking for a Sejong restaurant, I strongly recommend it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Bapkkot Hansang in Sejong also has underground parking, so keep that in mind 🌿
