In short
Hado is a casual dining restaurant serving four-course dinners on Hyanggyo-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. To celebrate her older sister's pregnancy, the writer booked Hado as a surprise, ordered the basic course for two with one steak swapped to chuck flap tail, and asked the kitchen to write the congratulatory message on the plate, which moved her sister to tears. Why book Hado in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, for a pregnancy surprise?
To surprise my older sister and celebrate her pregnancy, I booked a reservation at Hado, a course-dining restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. They wrote a message on the plate for us, the food across every course was delicious, and the whole atmosphere felt upscale — I'd really recommend it to anyone looking for a special-occasion restaurant in Haenggung-dong. My sister was so happy and satisfied, and it turned into a beautiful, unforgettable meal for me too. This place is famous as a Haenggung-dong date restaurant, so I'd suggest booking through Naver Reservation.

Hado in Suwon is a great-value course dining restaurant, perfect for a visit with a partner or friend.

Requesting the congratulation message and ordering the Hado course
Thanks to the message we requested, my sister was so touched and even happier in the moment...! For a course-dining restaurant, the prices were affordable, and the course composition and service were so well done that the price didn't feel believable — a real Haenggung-dong date spot.
Hado's dinner courses come in two types: the basic course and the summer course. The default steak is sous vide chicken breast, and there's an extra charge to upgrade to chuck flap tail. We ordered the basic course for two people, with one steak upgraded to chuck flap tail.

There's also a small space where you can enjoy music, which looked like a nice spot to enjoy a quiet meal alone too.

First course at Hado: green pea and sweet shrimp apple tart
The first course was tart — a green pea and sweet shrimp apple tart in bite-sized pieces, easy to pop straight into your mouth. The savory, mellow green pea and the sweet, tangy sweet shrimp apple tart together made for the perfect palate cleanser.
The sweet shrimp apple tart was topped with finely diced sweet apple and raw shrimp, giving it a crisp yet plump texture that was really appealing.

Second course: bisque pasta and olive oil pasta
The second course was pasta — we chose bisque and olive oil pasta.

The creamy, savory bisque pasta and the spicy olive oil pasta with the pungent, savory kick of garlic and clean saltiness both seemed simple on the surface, but I fell for Hado's own distinct flavor and found myself hoping the course would never end. They also kept checking on our pace and timed each course perfectly — never rushed, never a lag — which was so impressive.

Third course: chuck flap tail and sous vide chicken breast steak
The highlight third course was the steak — chuck flap tail and sous vide chicken breast steak. I usually don't love chicken breast, but I ordered it because the reviews for the sous vide version were so good. Chicken breast this tender, this melt-in-your-mouth soft, makes me feel like I could eat it forever even while dieting. To my taste, it was even better than the chuck flap tail — the best steak of the meal.

There was none of that characteristic poultry smell, and it wasn't dry at all, so it was easy to enjoy without any worry.
Dessert, the plated message and the verdict on Hado
The last dessert was ice cream, topped with dark chocolate for a dessert that let you perfectly taste the tangy sweetness underneath. The course was made up of four dishes total — it seemed light at first, but once we actually ate, the portions turned out generous without being excessive, clean and satisfying.

They even sent us off with mouthwash and a cup of tea! This became an unforgettable memory at a course-dining restaurant in Suwon, and I'd definitely recommend Hado to anyone looking for a date spot in Haenggung-dong — a genuine hidden gem along Suwon's Haengridan-gil :)
