Someone went to Yangjae Station for lunch and ended up adding TWO extra orders of ramen noodles to their dakdoritang?! That someone was me, haha.
I'd already had a great meal of charcoal dakgalbi at Yanggyegok before, so this time I went back for the dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew). Among the lunch spots near Yangjae Station, Yanggyegok is honestly perfect for a work lunch or a group gathering.
That day I was craving something spicy and hearty, so I went with dakdoritang — and the ramen noodle side turned out so much better than expected that I ended up adding a second order, haha. By the end I'd even polished off a full plate of fried rice. Here's my Yanggyegok revisit report! 😋
How to find Yanggyegok from Yangjae Station Exit 4

Yanggyegok is a little further past the Star Class commercial building right in front of Yangjae Station Exit 4 — follow the direction the arrow points.

Once you see this Olive Young, keep it on your left and turn into the alley.

And there it is — the Yanggyegok entrance, right next to Olive Young!

As befits a proper Yangjae Station lunch spot, there was a lunch-special menu board posted right at the entrance. With prices that good, there were plenty of other diners with reservations besides us, even at lunchtime!
Inside Yanggyegok: a wide hall built for group lunches

The inside of Yanggyegok is really spacious, so there were a lot of group parties.
Even though it was a weekend, seeing so many group reservations from lunchtime gave off a definite hot-spot vibe!

We'd made a reservation too, so the basic side dishes were already set out when we arrived. There were three of us that day, haha.
What's on the Yanggyegok menu and what it costs

Yanggyegok's main menu is split into three big categories — charcoal dakgalbi, dakdoritang, and dak-hanmari (whole chicken) — and this time we went with dakdoritang 🥰

While we waited for our order, we checked out the self-serve bar, and the side dishes were so clean and generously stocked. Nice work!

Menu: dakdoritang, medium, for 3 / Price: ₩45,000. The dakdoritang arrived quickly after we ordered!
A big pot came out generously loaded with chicken, potatoes, and green onion. And of course you can't have that broth without ramen noodle sides, right?

Menu: ramen noodle side / Price: ₩2,000. Once the noodles went in and the red broth started bubbling away, the whole thing just looked so appetizing, haha.

I tried the chicken first, and the tender meat, so well coated in the seasoning, was really delicious.
What I liked most was that the broth wasn't overly spicy! And the real star of the day was the ramen noodle side.
Why one ramen noodle side wasn't enough for three

If you're having dakdoritang at Yanggyegok, I really recommend adding the ramen noodle side!!! It's delicious even when the noodles are still a bit firm with just a touch of the dakdoritang sauce soaked in,

and it's amazing eaten together with the chicken too, haha. Maybe because there were three of us, we plowed through the first order of ramen noodles in no time and ended up adding a second — two whole orders, and it was so good, haha.

The default sides also included rice cakes and potatoes, so you get to enjoy chewy rice cake and fluffy potato together — that was another highlight of the dakdoritang at Yanggyegok near Yangjae Station 👍
A dakdoritang that's too spicy can leave your mouth numb after a while, but Yanggyegok's version is spicy just enough that you keep going back for more!!
Fried rice at 3,000 won, cooked at the table by staff
Between the chicken, a spoonful of broth here and there, and fishing out the potatoes, we naturally started thinking about rice, so

Menu: fried rice / Price: ₩3,000 per person. We finished off with fried rice!! Even after two orders of ramen noodles, this was too good to skip.
The staff actually made the fried rice for us themselves — leaving a bit of broth in the pot and stir-frying it in evenly, mixing everything together deliciously 👍

By the time we finished the savory fried rice, evenly soaked in dakdoritang broth, I felt like I was about to burst.
If you're looking for a good restaurant near Yangjae Station or craving something hearty for lunch, I strongly recommend the dakdoritang + ramen noodle side + fried rice combo!!
