Pangyo Italian restaurant porcini paccheri lunch: Raon Sik Tak
In short
Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant in a residential alley off Baekhyeon-dong café street in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. On a weekday afternoon off, a married couple shared porcini paccheri pasta, a Margherita with added rucola and a Bundaberg pink, and watched the pizzas go into the wood-fired oven in the open kitchen. With a public parking lot nearby and a baby chair on hand, Raon Sik Tak works for a couple's lunch date and for a visit with a baby alike.

On a day I took a half-day off for a hospital appointment, I had some time left before my appointment, so I ended up having lunch with my husband. We love the restaurants and cafés on Baekhyeon-dong café street and go there often, and this time we visited Raon Sik Tak, a nice-atmosphere Italian restaurant we'd recently discovered. There was a public parking lot nearby so parking was easy, and the food and atmosphere were both great — here's a review of a place I'd definitely go back to! ♪

What kind of restaurant is Raon Sik Tak on Baekhyeon-dong café street?
Raon Sik Tak, a great-atmosphere spot on Baekhyeon-dong café street
Raon Sik Tak is a pasta and pizza restaurant in a residential alley off Baekhyeon-dong café street, known for chewy wood-fired pizza. Baekhyeon-dong café street seems to have quite a few quiet, cozy spots. There are several cafés, brunch cafés, and bingsu (shaved ice) places I like there too, so I visit Baekhyeon-dong café street restaurants regularly. ^^
Since it's in a residential alley, it has a quiet, cozy feel to it! There's also a public parking lot, so you can park either on the alley street or in the lot. We visited around 1:30pm on a weekday, and including tables that were leaving just after lunch hour, there were four tables total.

Inside Raon Sik Tak: the dining room and the open kitchen
Little props here and there, glasses, wine bottles, posters and framed pictures~ flowers and plants in harmony with the wood tones, and a wood-fired oven installed — the atmosphere was genuinely great. ^^ The kitchen is open too, so you catch glimpses of the cooking. Hahaha.
The lighting is pretty and the windows are full-length, so the vibe is really good — great for groups of girlfriends, or for couples and married couples to come in the evening for a glass of wine. They even sell house wine by the glass!!!

You get an even better view of the wood-fired pizza being made. Hahahaha. I watched them spread tomato sauce on the dough, add toppings, and slide it into the oven. ♬ Watching it being made by hand makes it look even more delicious, doesn't it?! Haha.
My husband and I are both working full-time, so we rarely get time just to sit and chat — moments like this feel precious. >_< While we were chatting away, the dishes started coming out one by one.
What does the porcini paccheri pasta taste like?
Porcini (mushroom) paccheri pasta

Raon Sik Tak's porcini paccheri pasta is a cream pasta made with short-cut noodles, flavored with fragrant porcini mushrooms. I was surprised when it arrived and the noodles turned out to be short-cut, but the short pasta was actually delicious. Haha. My husband looked a bit disappointed when the pasta first arrived, so I was watching his reaction nervously, but the mushroom aroma was rich and the cream sauce had a thick, hearty texture — deep and savory! The sauce was so good and generously portioned that we ended up scooping up every last bit of the leftover sauce?! Such a relief. Haha.
My husband ordered a Bundaberg pink to drink — it had been a while since I'd had one and it was so good, and while we were eating the pasta, the wood-fired Margherita arrived too.
Is adding rucola to the Margherita worth it?
Margherita + added rucola

Raon Sik Tak also has a pizza that comes with rucola already on it, but that one wasn't quite our style, so we added rucola to the Margherita instead. They asked whether we wanted it served on the side or on top, and we asked for it on top. The Margherita doesn't normally look like this! Haha. Doesn't it look amazing~ You really have to taste a hot-out-of-the-oven wood-fired pizza to know the flavor.

When you pick up a slice, the cheese just streams down and the dough is chewy yet soft at the same time....?! Add the rucola aroma on top and it's so delicious. They cut it into six generous slices, so I had two and my husband had four. Haha.
Can you bring a baby to Raon Sik Tak?
Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch has a baby chair too, so it's good for families with babies. Next time I'll bring my daughter along. ^^ If you like wood-fired pizza and enjoy the restaurants on Baekhyeon-dong café street, I think Raon Sik Tak is worth a visit. Apparently Raon Sik Tak also has locations in Anyang and Gwacheon! Readers from other areas, take note. Haha.
