Tuna sashimi dinner in Dalseo, Daegu: Hangil Tuna
In short
Hangil Tuna is a tuna sashimi restaurant in Dalseo, Daegu. I ordered the Manager’s Special for two for ₩58,000 and enjoyed neatly thawed tuna, abalone porridge, udon, and fried dishes in a private room. Verdict: a great spot for a quiet drink and conversation for two.

As a total sashimi killer, I was wandering around looking for another tuna specialty restaurant today and ended up at Hangil Tuna (한길참치) in Janggidong! It is in the Janggidong food alley, so it is also a great place to stop by for a light second or third round after your first meal. Tuna sashimi is delicious whenever you have it,,,,🥹 Honestly, there are not many places in Daegu that do tuna sashimi well. Hangil Tuna was one of the ones I left completely satisfied with.

The Janggidong food alley is already famous, so I am sure everyone knows it well 😖

Ordering the Manager’s Special for two
Hangil Tuna in Janggidong has à la carte and meal options alongside its special menus. The special-menu items can be refilled up to twice! I went ahead and ordered the ✔️ Manager’s Special (₩58,000) for two!

Warm abalone porridge was the first thing to greet us🥰 I love warm porridge. Having it as an appetizer before the meal feels just right because it warms up your stomach and fills you up ₍ᐢ ๑ • 𖥦 • ๑ ᐢ₎ ♡
These are the seaweed sheets and aged kimchi to enjoy with the tuna.
This whole spread came out sooooo generously! Starting with the main tuna sashimi, it included grilled escolar, udon, fried shrimp, grilled chicken, clam soup, and fried eggs—easygoing dishes all around.

The main tuna sashimi, neatly thawed
✨ Main tuna sashimi ✨ As you would expect from a good tuna restaurant in Janggidong, out came a platter of tuna with such beautiful color and thawing. The tuna-savvy friend I went with said the thawing was incredibly clean 👍

Every cut had such great color that even I, someone who knows nothing about tuna, could tell it looked to be in amazing condition 😖

The grilled chicken was also delicious—the slightly sweet seasoning and tender texture were so nice!

I loved that they gave us lots of radish sprouts,,,,

Crispy fried shrimp‼️ Like they say, even a shoe would taste good fried—fried shrimp never fails,,,,

And rather than a tiny udon, a full bowl of udon arrives on a large plate. Honestly, this alone would let you each finish a bottle of soju. The broth was so rich that we finished the udon in no time. It was loaded with toppings too haha

Tuna sashimi with radish sprouts, wasabi, seaweed, and aged kimchi
Then it was time for the serious tuna sashimi eating session. This was truly tuna that suited the phrase “melts in your mouth” the moment you put it in. With radish sprouts and wasabi, the deep flavor of the tuna came through while the sprouts and wasabi cut right through the richness—it just melted in my mouth,,,,

I wrapped it in seaweed and ate it with aged kimchi too,,,, I had it with all sorts of things, so there was no chance to get tired of it hahahaha
A salad came with it as well, so I could eat it even more freshly!
This was the tuna sashimi we had as our second refill! They gave us cuts different from the first platter, so this is definitely a Janggidong tuna restaurant where stopping after only one round would be such a shame 👍

As we ate, they also gave us tuna sushi, and I seriously fell for itㅠㅠㅠㅠ It was soft, melted in my mouth, and just,,,, even though I was full, I ate it all,,,, Hangil Tuna was a Janggidong tuna restaurant where my friend and I ate sooo deliciously while quietly chatting in a private room‼️‼️
