Introduction to Mubokka Gukbap's gukbap

I visited Mubokka Gukbap, a great lunch spot in Duryu-dong where the meat is generous and the broth is deep yet clean.

Mubokka Gukbap Gamsam Branch parking lot

Parking and spacious seating

There was a parking lot behind the restaurant. I visited after the weekday lunch rush at 1:30 p.m., so there was space and I could eat comfortably. ☑️ For reference, there is also parking at the nearby West Daegu Tax Office and public parking lots.

The interior was clean and spacious. There were plenty of tables, with generous space between them, so dining felt comfortable. Group seating was available too, making it look like a good choice for gatherings or family meals.

Mubokka Gukbap beef-bone broth information

Patented beef-bone broth and a self-service bar

Mubokka Gukbap is said to be the first in Korea to register a patent for its beef-bone broth. They use nothing but 100% beef bones and water, remove the fat four times, then simmer it again for 24 hours—a gukbap made with real care.

After the initial side dishes were set out, I could help myself to anything else at the self-service bar. The cleanly maintained bar made Mubokka Gukbap Gamsam Branch feel even more trustworthy.

Soju and beer were ₩3,000 each. It was a great Duryu-dong gukbap spot for a bowl of gukbap and a shot of soju at dinner.

One-person suyuk set and galbi siraegi gukbap

I ordered the one-person suyuk (boiled pork) set (₩19,000) and galbi siraegi gukbap (₩11,000).

The side dishes were neatly arranged. Their house-made Korean cabbage kimchi had just the right seasoning and wonderful savory depth, so I kept reaching for it.

Domestic Korean kimchi and side dishes

They also sell whole heads of domestic Korean kimchi, and the moment I tasted it, I seriously debated whether I should take some home. Starting with kimchi this delicious immediately boosted my trust!!!!! 👍

The one-person suyuk set included a plate of suyuk, dwaeji gukbap (pork soup with rice), and a bowl of rice. It was a generous meal at a reasonable price.

One-person suyuk set components

The boiled pork belly came out freshly cooked and warm. With a balanced ratio of lean meat and fat, it was wonderfully tender, nutty, and clean-tasting.

Warm, freshly boiled pork belly suyuk

It paired beautifully with the dried radish strips served alongside it, and one bite wrapped in ssam (leaf wrap) was maximum satisfaction! The portion was generous enough to share between two people, too.

Since the suyuk was the main attraction, I did not expect much from the gukbap—but the dwaeji gukbap was absolutely loaded with meat ✨️ With ingredients used so generously, I could see why it is known as a great gukbap spot near Gamsam Station. Gamsam Station favorite, confirmed 🫶

Dwaeji gukbap loaded with meat

The plentiful lean meat was clean-tasting, while the deep, rich broth was nutty with no off smell. Mubokka Gukbap's dwaeji gukbap left a strong impression with its deep, clean flavor.

Boneless galbi siraegi gukbap, easy to eat

They say the patented broth is slowly simmered for 36 hours with pork and beef bones. Great for a hangover too, so good 👍 It was totally delicious with the seasoned chive salad alongside.

Galbi siraegi gukbap combines domestic siraegi (dried radish greens), simmered until tender, with pork ribs. As a signature dish, I loved the nutty perilla-seed flavor and the deep yet clean broth from the very first bite.

The pork ribs were boneless and easy to eat, and the meat was nice and thick. This was a must-order at Mubokka Gukbap Gamsam Branch—siraegi galbi gukbap that anyone, young or old, could enjoy.

Finished without leaving a single grain of rice~!
