Seomun Market is a can't-skip spot when you're out exploring markets in Daegu. There's such a huge variety of food that I always end up torn over what to eat every time I go.

I stopped by Daesin Peanut Bread, whose yellow shirts catch your eye from far away. You can watch the bread being baked right in front of you, and seeing whole peanuts go into the peanut bread made it pretty hard to just walk past, haha.

Where is Daesin Peanut Bread in Seomun Market, and what are its hours?

Daesin Peanut Bread is located at 36-8 Keunjangno 26-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, 1F, right in front of Gate 11 of the District 2 shopping complex at Seomun Market. It's open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM, and you can park at the Seomun Market public parking lot.

Just head to the District 2 side of the market — the staff in yellow uniforms are constantly baking peanut bread, so you'll spot it as soon as you get close!

Daesin Peanut Bread bakes both peanut bread and egg bread right out front. Staff were baking nonstop the whole time I was there. From pouring batter into the molds and cracking an egg into each one for the egg bread, to piling peanuts onto the peanut bread, I could watch the whole process up close.

The peanut bread really lives up to its name — each mold gets filled with peanuts, red skins and all, right before your eyes.

Several trays kept coming out of the oven one after another, and with the market's bustling atmosphere on top of it, watching and waiting was fun in itself.

How much does peanut bread cost at Daesin Peanut Bread?

Based on the photos I took, peanut bread was priced at

• 45 pieces ₩6,000
• 80 pieces ₩10,000

And egg bread was

• 1 piece ₩2,000
• 3 pieces ₩5,500
• 7 pieces ₩12,000

That's what they were selling for. The prices I've confirmed recently are the same. That said, market prices can change over time, so it's worth double-checking the price board when you visit.

What does Daesin Peanut Bread taste like?

I picked up both peanut bread and egg bread to take home. Opening the bag, they were bite-sized and easy to grab one at a time, with peanuts poking out visibly through the bread. Fresh out of the oven, the outside was slightly crisp while the inside stayed soft, and every bite gave you peanuts along with it, so the nutty flavor came through pretty strongly.

Peanut bread itself isn't so much a super-sweet dessert as it is more of an old-school market snack where the nutty flavor comes first. So I told myself I'd only have one or two and then just kept reaching for more, haha. Being bite-sized made it even more dangerous... ㅠ

Trying the egg bread at Daesin Peanut Bread

Daesin Peanut Bread's egg bread is ₩2,000 each, and since it's made right next to the peanut bread, it felt like a shame to skip. The fluffy bread has a whole egg baked inside, making it a bit more filling than the peanut bread. It was also a solid choice to grab one when getting hungry while wandering around Seomun Market.

If you're more into plain, savory market snacks than sweet desserts, the egg bread is worth ordering alongside the peanut bread. The two taste completely different, so buying both made for fun back-and-forth snacking.

How to reheat leftover peanut bread in an air fryer or microwave

Inside the Daesin Peanut Bread packaging were also instructions for storage and reheating. For the air fryer, it said to preheat to 180°C, heat for about 50–60 seconds, then let it cool briefly before eating; for the microwave, about 40–50 seconds at 700W. For storage, it recommended up to 23 days refrigerated or up to 47 days frozen.

It was nice knowing that even if I bought a big batch at once, I could reheat it at home later.

Is Daesin Peanut Bread worth it for a snack at Daegu's Seomun Market?

Seomun Market has so many famous foods, but as a snack you can casually pick up bite by bite while wandering around, peanut bread hit the spot perfectly.

Since you can watch it being made and actually see the peanuts going in, it was also a nice stop for exploring Seomun Market with kids. If you're looking for a Daegu Seomun Market must-try or a Daegu street food spot, Daesin Peanut Bread is a snack worth trying at least once while browsing the market. Next time I visit Seomun Market, I think I'll grab peanut bread again first thing, so I can eat it warm right away :)
