IFC Mall dinner, Yeouido gyukatsu set 1 with beer swap: Hurato Sikdang
In short
Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is a Japanese restaurant serving gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) on individual tabletop braziers, on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a weekend evening after shopping at IFC Mall and a walk through Yeouido Park, the writer swapped the drink in set 1 for a 200ml beer and seared the gyukatsu only lightly on the outside, with salt and wasabi the best pairing of the three sauces. Staff relit the brazier before being asked each time the flame died, making the meal an easy, comfortable one.

I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner after shopping in Yeouido, and ended up at Hurato Sikdang Yeouido!

It's a gyukatsu (grilled beef cutlet) specialist where you cook the meat yourself on a personal brazier, and as someone who loves gyukatsu, this was completely up my alley.

It's close to IFC Mall, so it's also great to visit after shopping and a walk through Yeouido Park. Let me introduce it to anyone looking for a Japanese restaurant near Yeouido station :)
Where is Hurato Sikdang Yeouido, and what are its hours?

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is at 32 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower. Accessibility was great, close to Yeouido station and IFC Mall.

It's great for a course of shopping at IFC Mall, then a walk in Yeouido Park, then a meal here — a good spot for anyone hunting for a gyukatsu restaurant near Yeouido Park!

Inside Hurato Sikdang: seating, including plenty of solo seats

Walking in, the place feels clean and calm. It was apparently inspired by small eateries in Japan, so there's a cozy, Japanese-restaurant kind of feeling throughout.

Maybe because it was the weekend, there were a lot of couples on dates and families with kids!! On weekdays it seems like a comfortable place to come with coworkers too.

There are plenty of solo seats, so it definitely seems fine to come alone on a weekday. And every table has its own brazier, so you can grill the gyukatsu right there as you eat.

Gyukatsu set 1 with a 200ml beer, grilled on your own brazier
What I ordered was the gyukatsu and 200ml beer set!

The visual is so good, ㅠㅠ. I swapped the drink in set 1 for a beer!

At Hurato Sikdang, you grill the gyukatsu yourself, piece by piece, on a personal brazier. You can cook it as much as you like, and there's real fun in listening to it sizzle!!
I like to only lightly sear the outside like this!! Done this way, the gyukatsu is genuinely soft and delicious…❤️ Crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside — I kept reaching for more.

If you're looking for gyukatsu near Yeouido Park, this is really the place ㅠㅠㅜㅠㅠ

Three sauces at Hurato Sikdang: salt, chili and soy
There was a good variety of sauces too — salt, chili, and soy!! It's nice to be able to dip according to your taste and cook the meat to whatever doneness you like.

My favorite combo is salt plus wasabi haha. I heard Yoon Nam-no said it's delicious to put wasabi on top of the meat and grill it together, so I'm going to try that next time!!! haha

And the 200ml beer I ordered alongside was just the right amount for a light drink with the gyukatsu, haha.
When the brazier flame goes out, staff relight it first
Since we were cooking on a personal brazier, the fire went out a few times along the way. Every time it did, staff came right over and got it going again, which made things so easy. I didn't even have to keep calling them over — they checked in on their own, which was another thing I really liked.
Is Hurato Sikdang Yeouido worth it for dinner near Yeouido Station?

Hurato Sikdang apparently started from inspiration gathered while visiting small eateries around Tokyo, Japan. Besides gyukatsu, there's a variety of Japanese dishes including rice bowls, so it's worth checking out if you're looking for a rice bowl restaurant in Yeouido haha.
There's real fun in grilling it yourself on the personal brazier, and above all the gyukatsu was soft and savory, which made the whole meal really satisfying. The staff were kind too, and being close to IFC Mall and Yeouido Park made it easy to plan a date course!
If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant near Yeouido station or gyukatsu near Yeouido Park, I recommend Hurato Sikdang Yeouido :)
