I went to grab instant tteokbokki at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, a well-known tteokbokki spot in Yeouido~ It's also a great place for office workers to drop by for lunch, so I wanted to recommend it~

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is inside IFC Mall, so it's really easy to access, and it's a convenient place to eat when you're shopping or meeting someone. Just a heads up — the way to get there can be a bit confusing, but it's on basement level 2, in the area where all the food stalls are gathered, so keep that in mind~!

This is a good spot to stop by especially when you're craving something spicy in Yeouido, so I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for a tteokbokki place in the area. Since it's inside IFC Mall, it was also convenient to combine the meal with shopping or a café stop before or after. If you're looking for a lunch option near your office in Yeouido, going for a snack-food menu at IFC for lunch feels like a nice change of pace.

What is the inside of Hyeonseonine Premium like?

The tables at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, a well-known Yeouido tteokbokki spot, are set up so you can boil the instant tteokbokki right at the table.

There's outdoor seating too, and since it's within IFC Mall, it still felt like a clean, pleasant place to eat.

I came in wanting a simple lunch, and when I saw instant tteokbokki on the menu I ordered it right away. If you're looking for something filling but not too heavy on the wallet inside IFC Mall, I think this instant tteokbokki spot is a solid choice.

IFC Mall in Yeouido gets a lot of office workers, so plenty of people are looking for a lunch spot around noon. With that in mind, I think choosing tteokbokki for lunch in Yeouido is actually a pretty good idea.

I ordered the instant tteokbokki together with bong-eomuk and cola. The tteokbokki came with a generous amount and plenty of ingredients packed in.

How does the tableside instant tteokbokki taste?

Since the tteokbokki at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is boiled right at the table, the sauce soaks deep into the rice cakes, giving it a really rich flavor.

As it bubbled away, eating the rice cakes and fish cake together, the sauce clung to everything instead of sliding off, and it was just so good.

Besides rice cakes and fish cake, there was also egg, dumplings, jjolmyeon noodles, and more mixed in, so I got to enjoy a variety of textures and flavors, which was great.

The chewy jjolmyeon noodles went really well with the tteokbokki too, and I kept reaching for more.

The bong-eomuk helped balance out the spiciness of the tteokbokki, making it a nice pairing.

I also ordered the chicken mayo rice bowl, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious — I really recommend having it together with the tteokbokki.

The chicken was fried perfectly, and with the teriyaki and mayo sauces mixed in just right, it was pleasantly sweet and delicious. I was already really full, but this dish was so good I kept eating more of it alongside the tteokbokki.
