Bangi-dong late-night bar in Seoul: buldak omelette at 88 Nogari

Hey, it's Riri! After grilling meat for round one in Bangi-dong, we were figuring out where to go for round two and ended up at 88 Nogari Bangi Branch, which has a rooftop bar setup! The evenings have been perfectly cool lately, so if you're looking for a rooftop bar in Bangi-dong this September or October — pay attention haha! This place was really good.

88 Nogari has such a flashy sign that it was easy to find haha. The 2nd floor, 3rd floor, and rooftop were all 88 Nogari! The 2nd and 3rd floors have spacious tables and the windows were open, so it was nice and breezy.

What time should you arrive for a rooftop table?

You need to get to 88 Nogari Bangi Branch's rooftop before 8pm to still find a seat. We arrived around 7pm and got lucky — there was a rooftop spot open, so we headed straight up. But seriously, about 30 minutes later the rooftop was completely full haha. On our way out, the 2nd and 3rd floors were nearly full too. If you want to use the rooftop, it seems like you really need to come before 8pm to have a chance.

It's a building rooftop, but it's lined with camping chairs and camping tables, so it genuinely felt like being on a camping trip haha. In cool evening weather like this, sitting up here was way more atmospheric than being indoors... total outdoor drinking vibes.

And even though it's a rooftop, we didn't need to flag down staff going back and forth — we could order right at the table with Naver Order! A lot of outdoor seating areas make ordering a hassle, so it was great not to deal with that here.

Round-two order: buldak omelette, semi-dried squid and the pollack set

What we ordered at 88 Nogari Bangi Branch was buldak omelette + semi-dried squid + meokdae (dried pollack) set. The menu just kept scrolling and scrolling — there was no end to it. There were so many options that we spent a while debating what to get haha, but since we'd already eaten round one, we wanted something simple, so this is what we ordered!

Sitting on the rooftop, catching the cool breeze while having a drink — the atmosphere carried the whole night. It would've been such a waste to miss out on outdoor drinking like this in September. Not too hot, not too cold, just right, ㅠ.

Semi-dried squid and the meokdae (dried pollack) set

Being a proper round-two spot, they had a good variety of dried seafood, and both the semi-dried squid and meokdae (dried pollack) we ordered came in generous portions and tasted great. Especially good for picking at as a drinking snack when you're already full from round one haha.

The meokdae set had an option to add octopus or semi-dried squid — the semi-dried squid was genuinely so chewy and delicious! You have to try it!!

The buldak omelette was better than expected

And the trending buldak (fire chicken) omelette exceeded expectations!! When it first arrived, I was surprised by how big it was. The portion was generous too, so it didn't feel like money wasted.

Spicy buldak plus soft egg (there's sausage in there too!!) — isn't that just an unbeatable combo haha. The portion was bigger than expected and it paired really well as a drinking snack, so I'd recommend the buldak omelette. Try dipping the semi-dried squid in the buldak omelette sauce — seriously, it's so good haha. And they gave everyone their own mayo, one mayo per person, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch haha.

Indoor floors or the rooftop: where to sit this season

88 Nogari Bangi Branch has plenty of indoor seating too, which looked great for group gatherings, but personally, in this season, it's the rooftop, no question...! We went in planning a quick, simple round two after round one, but the rooftop atmosphere was so good we ended up sitting there longer than expected haha.
