Yeouido IFC Mall tteokbokki 2-person set cooked at home: Hyeonseonine

On a day I had to be at IFC Mall, my hormones went wild and I was craving tteokbokki so hard I basically wandered in like I was hypnotized...

Where is Hyeonseonine Premium in Yeouido IFC Mall?

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch — I guess that's the name on the map! It's located along the passage that connects Yeouido Station to IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul, right before you get to IFC Mall.

It's easy to find since it's right next to a GS convenience store.

More than anything, the sign was so cute it kept catching my eye every time I passed by.

The exterior looks clean and cool, giving off exactly the vibe you'd want before eating tteokbokki...!

Hyeonseonine tteokbokki menu and prices

The menu and prices are written right there on a standing sign outside, so it's easy to decide before even walking in. Beyond tteokbokki, they also have ramyeon, rice bowls, sundae (Korean blood sausage), all kinds of add-ins, and even draft beer — seems like it could satisfy a lot of different cravings.

Apparently it's one of the 'top 3 tteokbokki in Seoul'!!! If tteokbokki is your soul food, this is one you should try..!!

Inside Hyeonseonine IFC Mall Branch: induction tables and self-serve bar

They have regular tteokbokki, but also sell instant (boil-it-yourself) tteokbokki!! There are induction burners set up right on the tables.

I went around 2pm to grab my instant tteokbokki takeout, so this is what the place looked like at that time!

There's a self-serve bar with radish pickles, salt, small plates, etc. all set up.

My husband and I have become total spice wimps as we've gotten older, so we ordered the mild version — but seeing the poster about how Hyeonseonine started off as a spicy tteokbokki place, I kind of regretted not just getting the spicy one ㅠ. They started in Yongsan and now run only directly-managed branches... that seriously boosted my trust in them.

There are also crispy fried peppers, fried tteok with savory mayo, rice balls, and a gift event running right now if you leave a review!!

The kitchen is half-open, and it looked clean, which I liked. My instant tteokbokki came out quickly, packed up!! Time to head home excitedly.

Hehe, even the shopping bag was so cute. Hyeonseonine's tteokbokki mascot character is way too adorable....!!!

What comes in the instant tteokbokki 2-person set takeout?

Got home and opened it up~~~

This is the instant tteokbokki 2-person set, and it came with a can of soda too. Straight to the fridge with that!!

Yakimandu? Fried dumplings, plus boiled eggs, rice cakes, and fish cake are included.

This pack has all kinds of vegetables in it.

And this pack is the seasoning sauce broth!! There was a printed instruction sheet showing exactly how to cook it, so I could follow along step by step.

How to boil the set at home and when to add ramyeon noodles

There's ramyeon noodles too~~~ Personally I think ramyeon noodles are non-negotiable with instant tteokbokki!!! Add water to the marked line, put in the seasoning sauce, and start boiling.

Hoho, put the vegetables in, and once it's boiling hard, gently add in the rice cakes, eggs, dumplings, and fish cake~

Already smells amazing....... Once it's boiling hard again, add the ramyeon noodles!!!! Aaaah so excited

If the noodles get too soft they'll soak up all the seasoning broth, so I stopped cooking right around here.

How does the basic (regular) spice level taste?

It was the regular flavor and it came out just spicy-sweet enough — really tasty!!!! With 2 eggs and 4 fried dumplings included as standard, it felt like a generously loaded set, so it was fun picking through all the different add-ins as I ate.

I get tteokbokki cravings on a pretty regular cycle, and this month it was satisfied with instant tteokbokki!!!! Bottom line: fully satisfied. If you're heading to The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall in Yeouido and think 'today's a tteokbokki day'... Hyeonseonine, famous for its spicy tteokbokki, comes highly recommended from me!!! ~~~~~~
