Sometimes — okay, pretty often — I crave soju with Western food, and on one of those pizza-and-soju cravings days I went to a Konkuk Univ. Station pizza spot whose sign alone tells you how obsessed they are with pizza: [Pizza E Michida] 🍕!!

Pizza E Michida with its bold red sign! Outdoor drinking season is clearly here — the terrace seats were way more popular than the indoor ones. The front is left open so even indoor seats feel like outdoor drinking.

Next to the main building there's this gorgeous hidden space. I actually peeked in thinking it was a different place — turned out it was Pizza E Michida's outdoor seating! I grabbed a spot there, 100% success rate.

There were tons of tables inside too, but with the weather so nice, the indoor seats weren't getting much love 💦 I'll come find you when it gets cold~

Menu and prices: QR ordering and five pizzas by sauce

Ordering is done through a QR code at each table, so it was hard to photograph everything one by one — I'll attach a screenshot instead 👀 Basically every menu item is designed to make a Western-food-and-soju addict (me) lose it. And for Koreans who might get homesick mid-meal, the greedy-in-the-best-way owner even added kimchi fried rice 💕

Of course the pizzas themselves come in tons of varieties too — salsa sauce, tomato sauce, cream sauce, rosé sauce, basil pesto. They're categorized by base sauce like that.

What the writer ordered at Pizza E Michida

• Half-and-half pizza ₩17,900 (+₩2,000 for options)

I upgraded the basic half-and-half pizza with rucola garlic shrimp (+₩2,000) on one side and mac & cheese bacon jalapeño on the other, and since they were running an opening event selling frozen Terra draft (250cc) for ₩1,900, I ordered that on the spot.

The starter spread and the solid fuel warmer under the pizza

When you order pizza you get nachos, pickles, garlic dip, and another slightly spicy dip I couldn't quite identify.

And here's what I really loved — they put a solid fuel warmer under the pizza so you could eat it warm down to the very last slice! Since it's not a meal you rush through but pizza to sip drinks alongside, you end up almost worshipping it slowly haha, so normally the last bits go cold and you force them down. With the warmer, no worrying about cold pizza.

A close look at the 1,900 won frozen Terra draft beer

A frosted-solid glass with the frozen slush pouring in — insane visuals!! I'm a soju person but how could I resist a ₩1,900 frozen draft beer... Only 250cc, but plenty enough for a brain-freeze level of refreshing.

Half-and-half pizza: rucola garlic shrimp + mac & cheese bacon jalapeño

Having a half-and-half option meant my partner and I could each order whatever pizza we wanted 👍 We each stuck strictly to our own half and never crossed the line haha.

My pick, rucola garlic shrimp pizza, had a salsa sauce base loaded with plump shrimp and rucola. Dipping it in the garlic sauce on top gave it that unmistakable Korean-palate-approved flavor…!!

My partner's pick, mac & cheese bacon jalapeño pizza, had a tomato sauce base piled high with macaroni. The tomato sauce nicely balanced out what could've been an overly rich flavor from all the toppings 〰️

And of course it got even better with hot sauce added 〰️ Tangy + rich + gooey, all at once 〰️

We said we'd stick to one draft beer each since we were getting full, but it was so good we ended up having two each 😆

Where to drink soju with pizza near Konkuk Univ. Station

For anyone who loves Western food with soju, not just pizza, [Pizza E Michida] is impossible not to love! Most places where you can grab pizza with a drink only carry beer — spots that sell soju too are surprisingly hard to find (why though ㅠㅠ). Being able to pair genuinely high-quality pizza, not just bar snack pizza, with a glass of soju made me so happy, and with a wide terrace perfect for outdoor drinking season on top of that!! It was an amazing, nothing-left-to-be-desired soju-and-pizza combo 💕
