Gangnam terrace restaurant for gochujang carbonara: People the Terrace
In short
People the Terrace is a dining restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, with a terrace and a greenhouse-like indoor space. I tried the shrimp avocado open sandwich, gochujang butter carbonara, and shrimp hot rosé pasta. Verdict: a lovely choice when the setting matters as much as dinner.

The large white arch-shaped structure had the feel of a European mansion or boutique hotel. Once night fell, soft lights came on along its lines, making it even more atmospheric!
A greenhouse-and-garden-like interior, plus an autumn terrace seat

I was genuinely surprised when I stepped inside and saw the elaborate interior! The lofty ceiling and plant-filled space made me feel as if I had entered a restaurant inside a greenhouse or garden. A classically designed fountain sits in the center, so rather than an indoor dining room, it feels like the grand courtyard of a palace! Such a proper photo spot, right?

With everything from bar tables to round tables and partitioned tables, it felt like a great space for an intimate date or a party with friends. It is a restaurant for a meal, but it also has the feel of a lounge where you can linger over cocktails or wine and conversation. The scale of the space and the openness created by the high ceiling felt much bigger in person than in photos.

Since the weather had turned cool, I chose a terrace seat—something you can enjoy only in weather like this. The mood lighting, sculptural features, and crisp autumn breeze made it such a pleasant spot.
A broad menu, from steak to cocktails

People the Terrace had a fairly wide selection, from steak and pasta to risotto, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Alongside coffee, tea, and fresh fruit juice, there were signature cocktails focused on visual flair, so it was easy to enjoy both dinner and drinks in one place.
Shrimp avocado open sandwich

The shrimp avocado open sandwich was the first thing I ordered the moment I saw the menu. It arrived with sauce spread over bread, generously piled with arugula and avocado, then topped with grilled shrimp. The avocado was stacked up like a mountain! It also came with carrot râpée.

With so much avocado, the overall flavor was soft and creamy, while the springy texture and grilled flavor of the shrimp joined in. The shrimp in particular did not simply taste boiled; its seared exterior brought out a savory aroma that contrasted wonderfully with the mild avocado.

The plain bread, creamy avocado, bouncy shrimp, and fresh vegetables came through one after another, giving this simple-looking dish quite a few layers of flavor. It was light and a nice, unfussy way to begin.

The next dishes we ordered were the gochujang (Korean chili paste) butter carbonara and shrimp hot rosé pasta. You could tell how thick the sauces would be without even tasting them, and the plating was so pretty! Completely the kind of food that feels lovely to eat out on the terrace, right?
Carbonara with gochujang keeping things in check from the back

It came with plenty of cream sauce and a generous layer of cheese over the pasta, looking seriously appetizing. The gochujang butter carbonara was the dish I was personally most curious about from the name alone. Since it pairs Korean gochujang with a standard carbonara, I wondered whether the gochujang flavor might be too strong, but the balance was actually excellent.
The first thing you taste in a bite is the rich, smooth nuttiness of butter and cream! The sauce was very creamy and clung thickly to the noodles, so at first it felt like a quite classic cream pasta. As it developed, though, the savory depth and gentle heat of gochujang followed.

The important point is that the gochujang does not push itself to the front! Rather than tasting strongly sweet and spicy like the gochujang pasta you might imagine, it was closer to gochujang reining in the richness of the cream and butter from behind.

As the generous cheese on top melted, it added another layer of salty flavor and savoriness. The bits of bacon throughout were a delicious extra too!

The flavors moved from cream to buttery nuttiness, salty cheese, and then the gentle heat of gochujang, making it much more dimensional than an ordinary carbonara. The gochujang gave it a Korean point of difference without spoiling the overall pasta flavor, making this a great way to enjoy familiar carbonara a little differently.
Shrimp hot rosé with distinct heat and acidity

The shrimp hot rosé pasta had large shrimp and mushrooms in a reddish rosé sauce, finished with vegetables and cheese on top. True to its name, it was a step spicier than a typical rosé pasta!

Tomato acidity and creamy softness were nicely blended, and the heat gave the overall flavor a clearer outline. It retained rosé’s signature smooth texture while bringing in spice and the brightness of tomato, so it was not a flavor that became tiresome even as I kept eating.

Because the shrimp was cooked in the sauce, it had naturally absorbed the rosé flavor. The mushrooms’ distinctive aroma and savory taste blended naturally between the cream and tomato sauce, making this more than simply a spicy, creamy rosé pasta—it had a little more depth. While the gochujang butter carbonara centered on a thick, rich nuttiness, the shrimp hot rosé was a clearer-tasting pasta with lively spice and tomato acidity.
Dinner for days when the space matters too
People the Terrace had such a distinct personality as a space that calling it simply an atmospheric Cheongdam restaurant did not quite cover it. The shrimp avocado open sandwich was fresh and savory, the gochujang butter carbonara had the appeal of a rich cream pasta with Korean savory depth, and the shrimp hot rosé pasta balanced spice with smooth rosé sauce beautifully. It is an especially good Gangnam terrace restaurant for a Cheongdam date, anniversary, atmospheric dinner, or gathering with friends—days when the space itself matters.
Try the terrace seating that can be enjoyed only in spring and autumn. Give yourself plenty of time to visit, look around the space slowly, and enjoy a cocktail or wine after dinner to really take in the atmosphere here. There are lots of spots for that perfect life-shot photo!
