Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch with its eye-catching yellow exterior

I have this sickness where I have to check out every new café that opens, so when I heard about this super cute new place, I ran right over! It's [Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch] — there are plenty of cafés around Gusan Station, but this one stood out with its bright yellow exterior!

What is Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch like inside?

Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch is a yellow-fronted budget dessert café on the 1st floor of 129 Seoreoung-ro. There's a yummy-looking crungee (croissant-shaped bread) at the counter along with adorable Shin-chan figurines! So many aesthetic cafés are popping up these days, but I love a place like this too — genuinely cute, like you can tell the owner just has a soft spot for cute things, haha.

Dessert and drink photos posted at the entrance

The moment you walk in, all these photos of desserts and drinks are plastered up, and even though I'd already eaten, my mouth was watering 🤤💦

Interior of Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch with seating

I thought it was a takeout-only spot, but there's actually quite a bit of seating inside! I took everything to go this time, but next time I might take a walk over and eat in.

Receipt photo booth and photos stuck on the wall

There were so many photos stuck all over the wall, and it turns out there's a receipt photo booth inside. Some shops have these — the print quality isn't great, but you just can't help taking one, haha. My boyfriend and I snapped a photo too! There are headbands, stickers, and even music boxes — a real pilgrimage site for kidults!

How much are drinks at Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch?

I was honestly shocked at how cheap it was..! Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch starts Americanos at ₩1,500, and various lattes are in the ₩3,000s. These days even budget coffee chains have raised their prices so much they're barely 'budget' anymore, but here a 1-liter bottle is just ₩4,800 — basically the price of one regular coffee! This café near Gusan Station is unbeatable on price.

Drink price list starting with Americano at ₩1,500

You order at a kiosk right in front of the counter, and the menu was seriously huge. I think Ward Coffee has the widest menu among budget coffee brands! The desserts especially were plentiful, including a lot of stuff you don't usually see at other cafés — pretzels, bungeoppang, churros, waffles — enough to throw a whole dessert party!

Anyone still into Dubai chocolate? Haha, I still crave it sometimes, and Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch even sells Dubai chocolate ice cream! It was a bit chilly that day so I went with the Dubai chocolate waffle instead of ice cream 🩵 And while I was at it, why not order churros and bungeoppang too.

Mini bungeoppang: 7 pieces for 3,300 won

The mini bungeoppang (fish-shaped filled pastry) at Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch comes as 7 pieces for ₩3,300, and you can choose between custard cream and red bean. Bungeoppang first!

Takeout box of 7 mini red bean bungeoppang

They're mini bungeoppang, but there were way more in the bag than I expected, and you get to choose between custard cream and red bean — I'm a red bean person through and through so I got all red bean! 7 pieces for ₩3,300 — I still can't believe that price!

Cross-section of a mini bungeoppang with red bean filling

The bungeoppang were crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the red bean filling wasn't overly sweet, which I loved. It went surprisingly well with coffee — I think I'll be picking these up as a coffee snack pretty often 🤍

A single churro coated evenly in sugar

Churros at 1,500 won a stick, baked to order

Next up, churros! At Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch, churros run ₩3,800 for 4 sticks, or ₩1,500 for 1 stick — I ordered just one. I wasn't expecting much given the low price, but it tasted exactly like the churros you get at an amusement park! They bake it fresh when you order, so it was super warm, and the sugar was coated evenly — sugar rush achieved 🍯

Dubai chocolate waffle packed into four pieces

Dubai chocolate waffle, 7,500 won with plenty of kadayif

Here's the Dubai chocolate waffle I'd been so excited to order. For takeout, they package the waffle in four pieces like this, and once I finished it, the portion was actually pretty substantial. It was the priciest waffle on the menu at ₩7,500! At other cafés, Dubai waffles run into the mid-teens of thousands of won, so this price felt like a steal, haha.

Kadayif pistachio spread packed separately

The kadayif pistachio spread comes packed separately so it doesn't get soggy, and you spread it on yourself — which was honestly kind of fun? They gave a full cup of spread, and even after slathering it generously on all four pieces, there was still some left over! This is a certified great-value dessert café.

Can you see how much kadayif that is?! Some places give you just a tiny bit of kadayif with a Dubai dessert and still charge premium prices, but here they really pile it on! If you're obsessed with Dubai chocolate, you have to visit this café near Gusan Station — [Ward Coffee Gusan Station Branch]!
