Daeyeon-dong Busan restaurant lunch with baby: Misikga-ui Udon

I visited Misikga-ui Udon, which is well known in Daeyeon-dong, Busan for its house-made udon noodles. At lunch, you can enjoy rice dishes such as udon, soba, donkatsu, and hambag katsu, while dinner has a separate beer and izakaya menu. I went for lunch with my baby.

It is at 227 Suyeong-ro in Nam-gu, Busan, right in front of Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station, so it was incredibly easy to get to!!! There is also a separate parking lot behind the building, making it convenient to visit by car. Use Goryeo Private Parking Lot behind Goryeo Hospital. One hour of parking at Goryeo Hospital Parking Lot is covered 🚗

The exterior immediately had the feel of a Japanese restaurant, and since you can spot it as soon as you leave Daeyeon Station, I think even first-time visitors will find it easily.

An interior for solo diners and meals with a baby

There was a separate waiting area, and I found out that the first floor is Misikga-ui Udon while the second floor also operates Misikga-ui Gui Shabu. The shabu-shabu seemed like really good value, so I want to try it next time.

One reason I would recommend it as a solo dining spot near Daeyeon Station is the bar table set aside for eating alone. There were actually lots of solo diners, and the four-person sofa tables are divided into sections, making it a nice place to talk while you eat, too.

Since I was visiting with my baby, I worried about whether they would have a high chair. But they had both a Bumbo seat for infants and toddlers and a regular high chair, which was convenient.

They also brought out children’s tableware separately. This could be helpful for anyone looking for a place to have lunch with a baby in Daeyeon-dong, Busan. They said it operates as an izakaya in the evening, but the interior was not dark—it had an overall bright, comfortable feel. It was lovely for coming with a baby for lunch, too.

The lunch menu included a wide range of Japanese dishes: yakiniku set meals, sake-don (salmon rice bowl), hambag steak set meals, hambag katsu set meals, cold soba and donkatsu, perilla oil soba and katsu, bukkake udon, curry udon, and pan momil (cold soba).

The evening izakaya menu had plenty of choices too, including salmon sashimi, butter-grilled abalone, tako wasabi, fried shrimp, chicken nanban, Osaka gyoza, and Japanese oden soup. It looked like a great place to enjoy a beer with some snacks.

I ordered two set meals: the Jumbo Set (pan momil + donkatsu + egg curry rice) and the Hambag Katsu Set Meal (hambag katsu + a bowl of rice) ✨

The Hambag Katsu Set Meal my husband chose came with hambag katsu, a bowl of rice, salad, and soup.

The Jumbo Set came with pan momil, donkatsu, egg curry rice, salad, and soup. I think we ordered well by choosing these two dishes.

First of all, the soba noodles were so delicious. I had only ever eaten soba at home before... Eating it out, they were much chewier, softer, and tastier. Soba noodles with just the right spring for slurping up 🍜

The donkatsu was especially delicious!!! Fried beautifully crisp on the outside, it was thick and full of juices. Soba and donkatsu together are just love...💛

For reference, Misikga-ui Udon, a popular Daeyeon-dong spot, offers unlimited rice and curry 😋👍🏻

Honestly, I did not have huge expectations for the hambag katsu, but this dish was seriously delicious...

It is exactly what it sounds like: hambag steak fried until crisp. Crispy outside, moist inside... and especially, the sauce was so good. My husband gave it a thumbs-up too!!!

It was so delicious when I tried it that I really hope you try it at least once. Honestly, I cannot give up the soba, cannot give up the donkatsu, and cannot give up the hambag katsu either..🥹

Finally, before leaving, we could each enjoy an iced Americano and a cup of instant mix coffee, which was such a nice way to finish the meal. Misikga-ui Udon is a great Daeyeon-dong, Busan restaurant that was convenient to visit with a baby thanks to the high chairs! If you are looking for somewhere for lunch or an izakaya to visit in the evening, it is worth keeping in mind.
