Where is Plate Dunsan Branch? 2nd floor next to Galleria Timeworld
Plate Dunsan Branch, a go-to Daejeon pasta restaurant, sits on the 2nd floor of the building right next to Galleria Timeworld Dunsan Branch. I found it while searching hard for somewhere with great vibes for a good Western meal, and I finally found my Daejeon pasta spot!
The accessibility was really convenient. It's right on the path for a stroll after shopping, so it made scheduling a meetup easy.
Why Plate Dunsan Branch is a popular first-date spot in Dunsan-dong
The moment you walk in, the sleek mood stands out — the soft pendant lighting gives the whole space a really romantic feel. That mood alone made it click for me why this place is so popular as a blind date spot in Dunsan-dong.
The neatly arranged tables paired with the arched interior gave off a luxurious, comfortable feeling the whole time I was there. There's even a tidy baby chair on one side, so it seemed like a good spot for families too.

Plate Dunsan Branch menu and how to pick your pasta noodles
Here's the menu at Plate Dunsan Branch, a Daejeon pasta restaurant. The lineup ranges from value-packed pasta sets to hearty steak sets and mouthwatering signature pizza!

A big perk of Plate Dunsan Branch is that you can pick your pasta noodle to suit your taste. It's broken down by texture from fresh to dried, so you can order a dish tailored just for you!

The house-made pickles neatly set on the table have a sweet-and-tangy, crisp texture. They cleared and refreshed the palate nicely between bites.

Steak set starters at Plate Dunsan: soup, salad and bread
We ordered the steak set to eat generously. Before the main dish arrives, you get freshly baked bread, fresh salad, and two warm soups.

The soup in the white bowl fills your mouth with a savory, sweet aroma and smoothness from the very first spoonful. Nothing warms your stomach up better before the meal.

The salad's crisp, fresh vegetables paired with a light, refreshing dressing that complemented the vegetables' natural flavor beautifully — a real appetite booster.

The warm bread, served on a cutting board, looked just like Outback's bushman bread. It comes with sweet, soft whipped cream on the side, which is delicious for dipping.

Slather on the cream and take a bite — the crumbly texture really comes alive, and dipping it into the soup makes it even more moist.

Abalone gue cream pasta with fresh squid ink spaghetti
The main dishes we'd been waiting for finally arrived — the signature pork ribs and abalone gue (roe) cream pasta, laid out gorgeously across the table! The moment it hit the table, its rich aroma alone drew a gasp.

The abalone gue cream pasta is stunning to look at, generously coated in deep green innard sauce. I chose the chewy fresh squid ink spaghetti for the noodles.

Twirling it onto my fork and taking a bite, a subtle ocean aroma lingered while the creaminess and nuttiness of the sauce filled my mouth in perfect harmony. There was no fishy taste at all, just deep umami, and I kept going back for more.
The abalone meat, chewy and generously portioned, gave a rich texture throughout the whole dish.

Being fresh noodles really made a difference — the sauce clung tightly instead of sliding off, and it made it clear why this is a real Daejeon pasta restaurant.

Signature pork ribs at Plate Dunsan Branch and what comes with them
The signature pork ribs, oven-roasted with a generous coat of sweet-and-savory special sauce, had a glossy, mouthwatering look.

Golden-grilled napa cabbage, soft mashed potatoes, and whole grain mustard were plated together as thoughtful accompaniments.

The meat was so tender and moist the bone slid right off the flesh. With a little smooth potato purée and tangy mustard on top, it stayed rich and balanced right down to the last bite, with no greasiness at all.

Is Plate Dunsan Branch worth it for a date in Daejeon?
From the romantic mood to the distinctive dishes, it was thoroughly satisfying — a great Daejeon pasta restaurant to visit on a day you want to set the mood. If you're planning a sweet date or looking for a smart blind date spot in Dunsan-dong, I highly recommend Plate Dunsan Branch!
