Goyang Korean restaurant for kid-friendly haejangguk: Jeju Eunhui-ne
In short
Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a Korean restaurant in Goyang, Gyeonggi, just across from Starfield Goyang. Before moving day, my husband ordered his haejangguk spicy while my oldest and I had ours without dadegi, and my child finished a whole bowl of rice and toppings. A filling, family-friendly meal with a drink on the side if you like.

With our move coming up tomorrow, I thought we needed to properly fill up today! You need stamina to pack, after all.

The first place that comes to mind at times like this is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch (제주은희네해장국 고양삼송점), also well known as a great restaurant near Starfield Goyang.
“Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch,” a Starfield Samsong favorite
It is a regular spot for our family. The portions are generous for the price and the broth is incredible, so we are satisfied every time. Whenever we go, I naturally think, Ah, that was a great meal, that was so filling, I feel refreshed. Today, I went with my husband and oldest child.
It is right in front of Starfield, in a busy area, so people looking for good food around Starfield Goyang naturally drop in as they pass by. It is a Samsong favorite for all kinds of diners: people recovering from a night out, nearby office workers having lunch, and those stopping in for a light dinner of haejangguk (Korean hangover soup) with a shot of soju. Monday hours are shortened, so keep that in mind before visiting.
Samsong haejangguk, ordered with and without dadegi

Today, we ordered one with dadegi (spicy seasoning paste) and one without. My husband had his spicy, with seonji (congealed ox blood) and dadegi, while my oldest and I ate ours clean and mild without dadegi.

But while we were eating, the owner brought us dadegi separately so we could mix it in if we needed it! 💑

When I think of Samsong haejangguk, this is the place. The owner is always kind, no matter when we visit, and has such great instincts! And importantly, the portions are overflowing every single time, so the three of us always leave comfortably full.
What did the broth taste like?
Anyone who has tried Eunhui-ne Haejangguk will know this, but the broth is truly rich and deep. When you take a spoonful, you notice its savory depth before the heat. It is broth that clearly tastes like it has been simmered for a long time. It is clean with no unwanted smell, yet its rich umami keeps calling you back for another spoonful!
A meal with my child
I cut up the meat, siraegi (dried radish greens), and bean sprouts into small pieces for my oldest with rice, and my child polished off the whole bowl.
I could make it mostly toppings without making it too strongly seasoned, so it did not feel like a burden to bring my child along. Being able to order it with the spicy dadegi left out was also a big advantage for a meal with kids! Watching how quickly my child's bowl emptied made me want to come again. (Oh, and they have a high chair here too :))

Why I loved the kkakdugi and black rice

You know how people say rice soup is only as good as its kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi)? The kkakdugi here really proves that saying. It is crunchy and perfectly seasoned, so I keep reaching for it with the soup!

I was also impressed that the rice was black rice. It goes down much more lightly than plain white rice, and the grains are pleasantly chewy too, so you can tell they use good-quality rice.
Why I fell for the owner's thoughtfulness once more
Since we came with a child, the owner gave us dosirak gim (lunchbox seaweed sheets).

On our way out after finishing, the owner even put a mint candy into each of our hands! It may seem like nothing much, but I think it is all these little thoughtful gestures adding up that make us keep coming back.

They also offer free extra broth and, with one meal ordered per person, a free additional bowl of rice. For people like me who enjoy a drink with a meal, the free broth is especially welcome 😆 The broth is so rich and deep that simply adding more makes the meal feel even more substantial!
A filling meal before moving day
We came to this Samsong haejangguk favorite the day before moving because we wanted a filling meal. As expected, Eunhui-ne Haejangguk did not disappoint.

It is great for visiting with children and equally nice for adults who want a drink with their meal, so I can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a good restaurant around Starfield Goyang or Samsong!
