Goyang Korean restaurant for customizable offal soup: Jeju Eunhui-ne

In short

Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a haejangguk restaurant in Goyang, Gyeonggi. We shared haejangguk without seonji, offal soup with the spice paste added separately, and tender dombe pork with our child. A satisfying family meal for different tastes.

One of my absolute favorite haejangguk (Korean hangover soup) places is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk, and this time, while I was in Goyang, I visited Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch (제주은희네해장국 고양삼송점). I’m not very good with seonji (congealed ox blood) or offal, so I always order my haejangguk without the seonji, but the beef, bean sprouts, ugeoji (dried cabbage greens), glass noodles, and rich, spicy broth are totally, completely my style.

This time I went with my husband and our child, and we really tucked in: one haejangguk + dombe pork set, one offal soup + dombe pork set, plus an extra bowl of rice.

Location and parking across from Goyang Starfield

It is at Units 1-008 and 1-009, e-Pyeonhansesang City Samsong, 33 Dongsong-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It is open 10:00–22:00 Monday through Friday and 09:00–22:00 on Saturday and Sunday, with last orders at 21:30.

It is right across from Goyang Starfield and inside e-Pyeonhansesang City, so it is easy to find, and the restaurant is clean and nice too.

From the dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather statue) blasting the air-conditioning to all the signatures on display, I totally approve of this as a great Samsong restaurant.

Parking and solo-dining seats

You can park in the building parking lot, and if you tell them your license plate number, they register one hour for you. Everything on the menu is also available to take out, and you can choose cooked or uncooked.

Seating at Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk
Seats suitable for dining alone

There are seats for dining alone, too, and as dinner time came around, more and more people arrived until the tables were full. They have high chairs as well.

I went with my six-year-old son, and the owner was so thoughtful. They even brought us mini lunchbox seaweed and a child’s spoon.

They were also selling seasoned doenjang (fermented soybean paste). I think it would be delicious with boiled pork at home.

Ordering the dombe pork sets

We ordered the haejangguk + dombe pork (80 g) set for ₩20,000 and the offal soup + dombe pork (80 g) set for ₩20,000! We added one bowl of rice, but I think they may have given it to us for free.

Haejangguk, offal soup, and dombe pork sets

Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch also sells set menus. Rather than each ordering a gukbap (rice soup) and getting dombe pork separately, this set had a little more meat, which made it better for feeding our child.

There was also a spicy tripe salad + dombe pork set, which looked like it would make a great drinking snack. My husband says that one day we will both leave the car behind and finally try it... haha.

Kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and garlic sauce are set out as basics, so you can serve yourself. I love the kkakdugi here. It was fermented to the perfect stage to go with gukbap.

A full haejangguk meal without seonji

Since I cannot eat things like seonji or offal, I ordered my haejangguk without seonji. Even without it, the bowl never feels lacking.

There was seriously so much beef, plus bean sprouts, ugeoji, and glass noodles! Every spoonful kept bringing up more ingredients, so it felt like it would never end no matter how much I ate.

Haejangguk with beef and bean sprouts

The portion was truly generous, and the bean sprouts gave it a refreshing taste too, so once you mix in rice, you are absolutely stuffed by the end. I like haejangguk with lots of ingredients, and I loved that it had everything evenly, from beef to ugeoji, bean sprouts, and glass noodles.

Haejangguk loaded with ingredients

The broth was rich and spicy, and it tasted even better to me after I added a little more dadegi (spicy seasoning paste).

Haejangguk broth with dadegi added

This garlic sauce is really the secret weapon. Rather than adding a huge amount from the start, I add it little by little as I eat, and it makes the broth feel even richer and deeper.

Putting a big cube of kkakdugi on top made it pure bliss! It reminded me that Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk never disappoints, even at a great Samsong restaurant, haha.

Haejangguk topped with kkakdugi

My husband ordered the offal soup + dombe pork set. Because we were there with our child, we ordered the offal soup without the dadegi.

It was packed with offal and big pieces of seonji. After we served out some broth for our child, my husband added the dadegi separately. Apparently, offal soup has to be enjoyed spicy with dadegi in it, haha.

He said it was delicious dipped in the sauce that came with it, and in the end he mixed in a whole bowl of rice, scraped the bowl clean, and finished every last bite.

Tender dombe pork shared with our child

Dombe pork! This is the amount that comes with one set, and there was another plate too, haha. I mixed a little rice into the soup for our child and gave it to him with the dombe pork, and he ate so well. He enjoyed the broth and the rice too.

Dombe pork and rice shared with a child

The dombe pork in particular was tender, so it was great once I cut it into child-sized pieces. Sometimes it is hard to know what to feed a child at a gukbap restaurant, but I liked that there was a meat menu.

It was even tastier wrapped with the lettuce that came alongside it.

With the salted shrimp and garlic chili that came with it, it felt like we were in Jeju, haha. This time, instead of Hallasan soju, we had makgeolli (Korean rice wine) too. My husband is always good at making a toast. The spicy haejangguk went wonderfully with the makgeolli, and together with the dombe pork, it was the perfect light-drinking combination, haha.

A good setup for families with different tastes

Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch was great because families with different tastes, like ours, can each enjoy a good meal. I had haejangguk without seonji, my husband had offal soup made spicy with dadegi after serving out broth for our child first, and our child happily had tender dombe pork and rice mixed into non-spicy offal-soup broth.

Ordering the set menu with dombe pork meant we had meat ready for our child, while we got to enjoy it with our haejangguk too, so this setup at Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch was just right. I recommend it as a great Samsong restaurant for eating out with a child~~~!
