Today I'm sharing my visit to Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang spot that nailed the wide-open ocean view, the food, and the value all at once. I got to enjoy pasta, pilaf, and salad here — a great place to enjoy right by Songdo Beach, which is just as relaxing and healing as Yeongildae Beach.

Where is Plan A Restaurant, and where do you park?

Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang restaurant, sits on the 4th floor of a building right across from Songdo Beach. There's roadside parking out front as well as a free public parking lot behind the building, so it was easy to park and walk right in.

The moment I stepped into Plan A Restaurant, I couldn't help but gasp at the sweeping ocean view laid out in front of me. The vast East Sea, filling the whole frame beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows! An unobstructed ocean view with nothing blocking the sightline — it was genuinely gorgeous.

Being able to eat while looking out at the East Sea felt like a real draw — delicious food plus a beautiful ocean view made for a proper healing moment.

Inside Plan A Restaurant there were plenty of 4-top and 6-top tables, and the overall vibe was clean and tidy, making it a comfortable place to eat. It seemed like it would work well for family meals, date nights, or gatherings with friends.

I got there right at opening so the tables were still empty, but by the time I finished taking photos and eating, the place had filled up with customers — proof I'd found a real Songdo, Pohang gem.

How to order: tablets and the one-dish-per-person rule

Ordering is simple with the tablet installed at each table — just a heads-up that it's one menu item per person, so keep that in mind if you're planning a visit.

Once we sat down, they brought out cutlery and the basic side dish of radish pickle.

First came the gorgeously colored grapefruit ade, cola, and a cup of ice — sipping a cold drink while looking out at the East Sea put me in a good mood before the food even arrived. Then the dishes started filling the table one by one!

Shrimp rosé pasta: mild enough for kids

My kid asked for it, so we ordered the shrimp rosé pasta at Plan A Restaurant! Rich, thick rosé sauce packed with plump, springy shrimp — it looked delicious just from the visuals.

The pasta noodles were cooked just right, and honestly the sauce was the real star. The soft, deep flavor of the rosé sauce paired beautifully with the noodles — every bite was satisfying.

What made it even better was that it wasn't spicy at all, so my elementary schooler could enjoy it too. When eating out with kids, spice level is often something you have to worry about, so this is a dish I'd recommend without hesitation for a family meal.

Beef pilaf: thick-cut beef and melted cheese

Next up is the beef pilaf at Plan A Restaurant, generously loaded with big chunks of beef.

The thick-cut beef was plentiful and looked appetizing, and with the added cheesy flavor, it was savory yet light. The rice and beef worked well together and made for a filling dish that also went nicely alongside the pasta. Alternating bites of the rich, creamy rosé pasta and the savory beef pilaf turned out to be a great combo.

Last but not least, the chicken salad at Plan A Restaurant! Fresh green salad with chicken is a combo that never fails, ha!

Crunchy, fresh vegetables together with chicken made for something both refreshing and filling. It's a great side to add when just pasta and pilaf might feel like a bit too little — ordering a variety of dishes to share made the meal feel that much richer and more satisfying.
