Plan A is located across from the Goddess Statue at Songdo Beach, on the 4th floor above a 1st-floor GS convenience store. If you can't find it, just search for the Songdo Starbucks — it's easy to spot from there! The entrance is through the Yuhan Building doorway shown in the photo, then up the elevator.

Getting off at the 4th floor, the entrance had cute, colorful opening hours written in what looked like chalk ✨

Since it's a Pohang Love Gift Certificate merchant, this seems like a great spot for anyone who's already charged up a discounted certificate to use while eating here 🤭

Window seats, the ocean view and surfers at weekend lunch

Even arriving not long after opening, the window seats at Plan A Restaurant were already full. It's a well-known Songdo, Pohang restaurant, so that makes sense! Groups of friends come a lot, but it looked like plenty of families too — there's group seating set up in the back.

With no front seats open, I went to the opposite side — still along the side window line, so even though it wasn't the front, I could still sit facing the ocean view.

This is the view from the seat. The waves were really rough that day, so there were a lot of surfers out. While waiting for the food to arrive, I watched the ocean — it kept me from getting bored at all haha

How ordering by tablet works at Plan A Restaurant

The menu at Plan A Restaurant is ordered via the tablet at each table, and it's divided into Steak / Pasta / Rice / Salad / Sides. There was a lot of variety, so it took quite a while to pick haha

After ordering, they set the table with a spoon, fork, small plate, pickles, and water.

The drink came out first — I ordered a Zero Coke since I wanted something cold and fizzy.

Peak summer has passed, but it's still hot during the day. One sip of that sharp, fizzy soda was so refreshing.

Chicken salad

Of the three dishes ordered, the chicken salad came out first. A plate piled high with freshly fried, crispy chicken and fresh vegetables. Sliced almonds and cheese were scattered on top, and overall the ingredients came together really well.

Honestly, I barely eat salad at home — maybe that's exactly why I crave it when I'm out haha

Eating the salad before the main dish somehow made my stomach feel more settled 🤍

Truffle aglio olio

Next up was the pasta I ordered — truffle aglio olio. I debated ordering the cream pasta, which is supposedly the best menu item, but it had been a while since I'd had aglio olio, so I went with this instead. It tasted like something I'd never quite had before haha

The flavor of the garlic itself came through with a subtle hint of truffle aroma. The menu said it was spicy, but I didn't really notice any spiciness — the taste wasn't harsh at all.

Whole shrimp pilaf

Last came the whole shrimp pilaf. It's loaded with big, whole shrimp — large and plump, with a really nice texture.

The rice grains were stir-fried to a nice separate, chewy texture that paired well with the shrimp 🦐

Is Plan A Restaurant a good lunch spot at Songdo Beach?

It had been a while since I'd been to Songdo Beach, and this was the restaurant I sought out. The food was good, but the ocean view from the 4th floor was really the standout. Eating slowly while looking out at the sea gave a real sense of leisure, and I left feeling like I'd properly enjoyed my weekend 🫶🏻💕

There are several cafés right in front of the beach, so it's easy to have lunch here and then walk over for coffee afterward — the location really is great!
