A real Gwangmyeong Station gem✨ Loads of griddle jjukkumi (octopus) with minari (water dropwort)! This is Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch (정이품쭈꾸미 광명1호점).

Whenever I crave spicy, chewy jjukkumi stir-fry, my go-to spot is Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch. It'd been a while since my last visit, and I heard the happy news that they'd expanded into a bigger, more pleasant space, so I went right away. I came back impressed by the much cleaner interior and the same delicious griddle jjukkumi as ever — here's my review of this Gwangmyeong Station favorite🧡

How the relocated, larger Jeongipum Jjukkumi feels inside
Since expanding, the dining hall at Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch is much bigger than before. The spacing between tables is more generous too, which makes it even better for group gatherings or company dinners.

Walking in, I was greeted by a much wider, more comfortable dining hall than before. The generous spacing between tables made for a relaxed meal.

Even though I visited past lunchtime, there were still plenty of customers, so I snapped another shot of the interior on my way out after the meal. With the bigger space, it's now even better suited to group gatherings or company dinners 👍🏻
Naver reservations and the side dishes
I booked through Naver at Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch, and when I arrived, my name was already on the table with everything set up. The side dishes included spicy radish salad, bean sprouts, gim (seaweed), flying fish roe, sauce, perilla leaves, and even cold seaweed soup.

Having booked through Naver, I was pleasantly surprised to see my name already on the table. Everything was set up right on time, so I could start eating immediately.

The side dishes — spicy radish salad, bean sprouts, gim, flying fish roe, sauce, and perilla leaves — were all neatly laid out, pairing perfectly with the jjukkumi stir-fry.

The cold seaweed soup that goes so well with spicy jjukkumi stir-fry was also perfect for this season — I enjoyed it a lot.

And best of all, they still had those coin-shaped handkerchiefs I hadn't seen in a while — such a nice surprise.🤭

How does the griddle jjukkumi with black angus beef belly taste?
Once again, I ordered the griddle jjukkumi loaded with extras with black angus beef belly. Whether it's peak season for Jeongipum's Sorabang jjukkumi or not, the octopus was plump and tender, tasting even better than usual.

This is the griddle jjukkumi loaded with extras that I order every time I visit. You can choose between chestnut-fed black pork belly and black angus beef belly — I love beef, so I always go for the beef belly. Sorabang jjukkumi, fragrant minari, and savory beef belly — how could that combination not taste amazing?

It sizzled deliciously on the griddle as it cooked.

Whether it's exactly peak season for the jjukkumi right now, they were plump and truly tender, so I enjoyed the meal even more than usual.

My tip for the best bite: layer gim over a perilla leaf, then pile on spicy radish salad, bean sprouts, flying fish roe, and jjukkumi in order, and wrap it all up. It's a flavor that never gets old, no matter how much you eat.
Complimentary steamed egg and flying fish roe fried rice
Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch serves steamed egg complimentary. After eating our fill, we ordered flying fish roe fried rice, which the staff cooked up right at our table.

My favorite — steamed egg! It comes free, and it's genuinely delicious 😋

Once we'd eaten a good amount, we ordered fried rice right away. I went with the flying fish roe fried rice.

The staff member stir-fried it with skilled hands, and it was delicious! No matter how full you are, you have to finish with fried rice.
Verdict: still a genuine jjukkumi favourite near Gwangmyeong Station
Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch keeps up the same consistent taste and service, making it a jjukkumi restaurant I always want to come back to🧡
