Solo 4pm visit for milk cloud roll at Baegya, a Gangneung beach café

Today I'm introducing a Gangneung café called Baegya Coffee (백야커피).

If you're traveling to Gangneung, an ocean-view café is a must-must stop, right?? (✨essential essential✨) Among ocean-view cafés, there's one with easy parking, good bread, AND a good view — so today I want to introduce it to you➿

Where is Baegya Coffee and where should you park?

Gangneung bakery café Baegya Coffee is located right in front of Sageunjin Beach 🌊🏖️💙. It's a three-story café building that faces the sea head-on, so it's huge! And because it's huge, the parking lot is also huge, so parking is easy.

If you go up the hill behind the café instead of the front entrance, there's another spacious lot back there! I went on a weekday afternoon and it was still packed full of cars!

How much bread is left after 4pm? The first-floor bakery

Baegya Coffee has 1st through 4th floors, but the 4th floor is a rooftop and operates as a no-kids zone. Let's head straight to the 1st floor to check out the bread first>0<

Since I visited after 4pm, quite a lot of the bread was already sold out ㅠㅠㅠㅠ If you want to try more of the delicious breads, I'd recommend going in the morning☝🏻⭐️

There were quite a lot of juice and cake options too, so it seems like a great place to bring kids!

Baegya Coffee floor by floor: which seats are best?

After ordering, I toured from the 1st floor up!

••• The sea view through the big floor-to-ceiling windows 🌊🏖️💙 ••• Looking at a view like this, it really hits you that you're actually in Gangneung haha

There's an elevator in the building too, so getting around is very convenient. The moment I stepped into the elevator, I noticed something really thoughtful!!!! There's a shelf inside the elevator for setting food down!!! Honestly, when you're with several people the tray can get pretty heavy and awkward, but Baegya Coffee has thought through even these little details★ The owner is a genius at running a business. Amazing 👍🏻✨

Second floor: the best spot for the Sageunjin Beach view

This is the 2nd floor, and it was actually my favorite 🫶🏻 There are seats facing straight out the window, making it the best floor for enjoying the ocean view.

Third floor: seating for families and groups

The 3rd floor is great for people visiting with family!! There are lots of group seats and the chairs are nice and cushy haha

In weather like this, not too hot and not too cold, I'd also recommend the outdoor seats! → Outdoor seating like this is available on both the 2nd and 3rd floors 💗

Fourth-floor rooftop: no-kids zone with the sea breeze

And finally, the moment we've been waiting for — the rooftop!!🫢 What's really great here is that it's an open rooftop with nothing blocking the view, and you get to feel the cool~~ sea breeze, which makes it such a wonderful spot ㅠㅠㅠ🥺🫶🏻🤍 The tables and chairs are such cute colors too haha

How can this view be so good ㅠㅠ I ended up standing on the 4th floor gazing at the sea for a while before heading back inside.

Corn cream shot latte, 6,800 won

I'm a very well-known corn fiend (TMI) so of course I had to order the corn cream latte :) The corn cream on top was quite thick and rich, totally my taste. It's sweet but still has a coffee flavor, so it's a flavor everyone can love — no divided opinions here!

Milk cloud roll, 6,800 won

• Milk cloud roll • Isn't this name so cute?? haha My heart was stolen by its cute looks and cute name. And the combo of the fluffy bread and cream — no need to say more ㅠㅠ The outer bread isn't too soft, it's a little chewy, which makes it even more delicious.

Egg tart, 3,500 won

• Egg tart • Baegya Coffee's egg tart has a crust that isn't the pastry-style shell we usually know, but more of a tart feel, so I was curious what it would taste like and ordered one. I was worried it might be too hard, but it was softer than expected and the filling inside was sweet and delicious 🤎

Is Baegya Coffee a good place to go alone?

Sipping good coffee and bread while looking out at the calm sea view made even the time alone so, so happy. Baegya Coffee is great to visit with family or as a couple, but it was also really great to visit alone!!! If you're looking for a great coffee spot with a Sageunjin Beach view, I highly recommend Baegya Coffee.
