I was looking for a café in Gangneung where I could see the sea and relax at the same time, so I stopped by Baegya Coffee. It's a large four-floor café right in front of the ocean, so every seat felt spacious — I especially loved the window seats facing the sea and the rooftop. How much bread is left at Baegya Coffee at 4-5pm?

At Baegya Coffee you order drinks and bread on the first floor, and the variety was really impressive.

I visited around 4-5pm, and by then most of the bread had already sold out, so not much was left 😢

If you want to see the full range of popular breads, it's probably better to visit a bit earlier. I carefully looked over the bread and drinks and picked out three breads and one drink.

Four floors plus a rooftop: the size of this Gangneung café

Baegya Coffee spans four floors including the rooftop, so it felt like a really large space. Both the second and third floors had plenty of tables and seats, and overall the space was spacious. There were seats good for two or three people as well as spots for larger groups, so it seemed like a good place for a date or a group visit alike.

There's also an elevator, so moving between floors was easy.

There was even a little shelf inside the elevator for holding your tray. It was nice not having to hold onto the tray of drinks and bread the whole time — a small detail that made things easier. And the order I placed came out quickly without a long wait 😊

The ocean view from Baegya Coffee's third-floor window seats

I wanted a seat with a good view of the sea, so I headed straight up to the third floor. There were plenty of seats so I settled in comfortably, and since I'd come all the way to a Gangneung café, it was nice to be able to slowly relax while looking out at the ocean 🥰

Passion fruit ade, 7,200 won

The color was gorgeous from the moment I got it. With the sea as a backdrop, it made for really pretty photos, so I took quite a few. The staff told me to stir it well before drinking, and once I mixed it thoroughly it turned a warm orange color overall. The carbonation wasn't too strong, so it was easy to drink, and I liked that it had a clear passion fruit flavor instead of tasting watered down.

Condensed milk pie: crisp and buttery

The first thing I noticed with the condensed milk pie was how crispy it was. I worried it might be too sweet given the condensed milk, but it wasn't overly sweet — just the right amount, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

I liked that the lemon flavor wasn't too sour, making it easy to eat. The lemon glaze on top was soft, and the pound cake itself was soft too, pairing well with the lemon flavor. The tartness wasn't overdone, so I enjoyed it comfortably to the last bite.

Unlike the lemon one, the matcha version had a hard, crispy texture on top. The matcha flavor and aroma weren't too strong — it came through subtly, which I liked.

The fourth-floor rooftop right in front of the sea

After eating for a while, I went up to check out the fourth-floor rooftop too. The rooftop was also spacious, with tables and chairs. The sea stretched out right in front, so the view was really impressive.

The weather was nice the day I visited, so it was a good day to catch the sea breeze on the rooftop. Feeling the cool wind while looking out at the ocean gave me a relaxed, healing kind of feeling.

Self-packing station and other conveniences

Next to the counter, they had tissues, wet wipes, paper cups, and water ready. There was also a self-packaging station for taking leftover bread home, with plastic bags and paper bags available so you could pack up any leftovers yourself easily.

Parking at Baegya Coffee was easy

Since Baegya Coffee is located right in front of the sea, it wasn't hard to find. There's a dedicated parking lot right in front of the store, making it easy to park, and there's also a rear lot accessible via the side street next to the café. I liked that I didn't have to worry much about parking before visiting.

What I liked most about Baegya Coffee was being able to relax while looking out at the sea. I could see the ocean through the full windows on every floor while enjoying drinks and dessert, and after finishing, I got to go up to the rooftop and take in the sea view once more while catching the breeze.

The store is spacious with plenty of seating, so it's good for group visits, and there are also plenty of seats for two or three people, making it a nice spot for a window-side date overlooking the sea.
