Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch in a building basement

Recommended for anyone looking for a good restaurant near Seoul Station! This is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch. It is on B1 of the LG Seoul Station Building near Seoul Station!! At first, I could not find it and wandered around, hahahahahahaha. It is inside the building, so go in and take the escalator down!

Head in this direction and take the escalator down! Or use these stairs! Oh, there is a restaurant down here!

We did not have to wait! We visited a little after 11 on the weekend!

It was not a huge space, but it was neat! There are tables for two and four.

Ordering the sirloin gyukatsu and hamburger-steak omurice set

Here is the menu. It explains the set menus and how to enjoy gyukatsu (Japanese breaded beef cutlet)! We ordered the sirloin gyukatsu, hamburger-steak omurice, and two-drink set (₩39,500), plus cold soba and shrimp tempura (₩11,000). The weather had cooled down a little, but it was still hot during the day, so cold soba was a must~

One cola and one Sprite, haha.

Then they lit the mini grill! Every table has one, so you can grill your gyukatsu yourself!

The gyukatsu came out first!!! The gyukatsu set included pickled cabbage, sauces, soup, rice, and salad. Rice refills are unlimited!

First, we put the butter that came with it onto the grill!

Then, grill the gyukatsu right over the butter! Since it is grilled with butter, the meat takes on that rich, nutty flavor. The buttery aroma rose while it cooked, and I wanted to eat it already... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ It looks so good, right? It had been such a long time since I last had gyukatsu.

Top it with wasabi and dip it in the sauce like this!! I add wasabi and dip mine in chili sauce~! I think it is even tastier because you grill it yourself! Crispy outside, moist inside. So good! And because you eat each piece straight off the grill, it stays warm.

Omurice with hamburger steak beneath its thick egg layer

Since gyukatsu alone might not feel quite enough, we also ordered the hamburger-steak omurice. Wow, the egg was incredibly thick. So thick~ There is a hamburger steak hidden beneath the vegetable fried rice! I thought it would just be omurice, so I was surprised to find the hamburger steak, haha.

We split open the fluffy egg and poured the omurice sauce over it!

The egg was so soft! It was even better with the sauce. There was plenty of rice, and with the hamburger steak too, it was a really filling meal!

Cold soba and shrimp tempura that cut through the richness

I felt like I was about to burst, but then more came out... Gyukatsu really has to be paired with a cold soba set, you know.

When the gyukatsu started to feel a little rich, a cool bite of soba was absolute heaven... The shrimp tempura was plump and tasty too.

For a quick meal near Seoul Station

I liked that they put a candle in the mini grill so we could keep the food warm, and they relight it if it goes out! Ours went out at the end, so we said it was okay, but the last piece was slightly undercooked, hahaha. So sadly, I had to spit out the last bite, haha. There are often times when you need to eat in a hurry near Seoul Station, and I recommend this as a good restaurant nearby!
