I was near COEX and looking for something simple to eat at home, so I picked up poke from Ola Poke Samseong Branch. I'd been eating all sorts of heavy stuff out lately, so I wanted at least one meal to be a bit healthier haha. Among the restaurants near COEX, poke was perfect since it's as light as a salad but still comes with rice to fill you up. Here's my write-up on Ola Poke Samseong Branch — overall a clean, healthy taste :)

Where is Ola Poke Samseong? Near Samseong Station Exit 3
Ola Poke Samseong Branch is near COEX, so it was convenient to grab takeout when I had plans in the area. It's close to Exit 3 of Samseong Station, and since it's in an office district, I saw a line of office workers stopping by after work.

There was also outdoor seating! I went after work hours, trying to eat healthy and diet a bit. Turns out you can also build your own poke however you like~ Being able to customize it to your taste seemed like a real perk!
Inside Ola Poke Samseong: bar seats for solo dining
Walking into Ola Poke Samseong Branch, the overall vibe was clean and casual. There were bar seats for solo dining, plus space for two people to sit and eat together.

As a place that sells poke and salad menus, it didn't feel awkward to visit alone for a simple meal.

Maybe because it was after work hours, I saw quite a few customers dining solo~
Ola Poke menu and prices, and how to pick your rice-to-vegetable ratio
Ola Poke Samseong Branch's menu is centered on poke, with plenty of variety to pick from based on your taste. I went with two: salmon poke (₩13,500), since I usually like salmon, and garlic shrimp poke (₩11,500), with its plump shrimp. There were plenty of other options too, so order whatever suits your taste.

What I liked while ordering was that you can choose the ratio of rice to vegetables however you want. I went with extra rice for the salmon poke to make it more filling, and half rice, half veggies for the shrimp poke.
How the salmon poke and garlic shrimp poke tasted at home
I picked up both poke bowls from Ola Poke Samseong Branch and dug in as soon as I got home.

First, the salmon poke — probably because I chose extra rice, it felt more like a full meal than a salad. Eating the salmon with the veggies and rice together filled me up more than I expected.

They also gave individual sauce packets, and drizzling that on added a nice savory kick~

The shrimp poke, on the other hand, with its half-and-half rice and veggie ratio, definitely felt more like eating a vegetable salad. And since it was garlic shrimp, there was a subtle garlic aroma that tasted great.

Both bowls overall tasted clean and healthy rather than bold or spicy — exactly the kind of meal you'd want. Trying the two different ratios myself, I realized: go heavier on rice on days you want to feel full, and split it half and half when you want something more like a salad.
Final verdict: is Ola Poke Samseong worth it for a takeout meal near COEX?
Ola Poke Samseong Branch was great for a simple solo pickup near COEX to eat at home!
- The salmon poke with extra rice felt hearty and filling, while the shrimp poke with half rice, half veggies felt more like a salad.
- Most of all, I loved being able to adjust the rice-to-veggie ratio to my own taste.
Overall the flavors were clean and not too bold, so it'll come to mind whenever I'm craving something light like a salad or poke among the restaurants near COEX :)
