In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a 20-year-old tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. The route is the moving walkway just before Exit 3 of Yeouido Station, and the Hyeonseoni Set (25,000 won) came in medium spice with tteokbokki, sundae (blood sausage), gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and fritters, plus a piece of liver served with the sundae. The weather was so nice today that I went looking around Yeouido and then headed off for my favorite food of all — tteokbokki.

How to find Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, and its hours
📍 Location IFC Mall B2, Hyeonseonine Premium, 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea 🕝 Hours Daily 11:00 - 21:00 * Last order 20:40 * Takeout available
Hyeonseonine is located on basement level 2 of IFC Mall. I have zero sense of direction, so I figured I'd get lost inside the mall — but right before Yeouido Exit 3, there's a moving walkway connecting down to IFC Mall's basement, and following that made it easy to find.

Going right from there, a red sign as red as tteokbokki itself caught my eye.

Menu and picking a spice level at the kiosk

It was near lunchtime and I was starving, so of course I studied the menu board carefully. Besides regular tteokbokki, there were instant tteokbokki and rice bowl options too. I love the combo of tteokbokki, sundae and fritters, so I went with the Hyeonseoni Set. Next time I visit for dinner I want to try the Hyeonseoni Beer Set, which comes with two draft beers.

Ordering was done through a kiosk. Tteokbokki comes in three spice levels — mild, medium, hot — so even spice wimps like me can order comfortably. I went with medium!

The instant tteokbokki also had a range of options. For takeout, you can choose it uncooked so the noodles don't get soggy. I agonized over ordering the instant version too, but I'll try it next time.
Inside Hyeonseonine and what is on the self-serve bar

While waiting for the food, I looked around the restaurant — turns out it has a 20-year history.

The interior was spacious, good for eating alone or with a group of two or four. The place was clean too, so I could enjoy my meal in a nice atmosphere.

On one side there was a self-serve bar with a water dispenser and pickled radish. Pickled radish is essential with gimbap and tteokbokki, haha. There were also disposable aprons so you could eat without getting tteokbokki sauce on your clothes.

Next to the pickled radish were mini soy sauce for the fritters and salt for dipping the sundae, so I set those aside before the food arrived.

On one wall, I saw a sign for a review event offering free tteok-fritters and savory mayo rice balls. Might be worth joining in, haha.
What comes in the 25,000-won Hyeonseoni Set

Heart pounding...
After waiting a bit, the food arrived. The Hyeonseoni Set (₩25,000) came with tteokbokki, sundae, gimbap and fritters all together, so I could eat everything in perfect harmony.

The gimbap had a nutty sprinkle of sesame seeds and was packed evenly with ham, pickled radish, crab stick, and vegetables. It was delicious on its own, but dipping it in the tteokbokki broth made it even better 👍

The tteokbokki was loaded with rice cakes and fish cake, sweet and tangy. I'm terrible with spicy food, and choosing medium turned out to be the right call! If you're good with spice, going one level up might suit you better. The broth was generous, which was perfect for me since I love dipping sundae, gimbap, and fritters into tteokbokki broth. I also happen to love liver, and here the sundae came with liver mixed in, which made me so happy, haha.

The fritters were the classic lineup — vegetable, kimmari (seaweed noodle roll), squid, and mandu (dumpling) — crispy and delicious. The sweet potato one was especially soft and right up my alley. It was a generous portion for two women, and we ate well and left full. This place would be great if you want a quick meal before shopping at The Hyundai in Yeouido. Next time I'm in Yeouido, I'm trying the instant tteokbokki!!
