Shin Ramyun risotto at a Yeongdeungpo izakaya, ₩54,000 for two: Nani
In short
Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch is an izakaya across the road from Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Two people shared chicken skewers, pork belly and scallion skewers, Shin Ramyun risotto and a glass of Cass for ₩54,000, which covered both dinner and the first round of drinks. The chicken skewers use thigh meat and run with juice like handmade skewers, and the portions are larger than most yakitori bars for the price.

How to get to Nani Byeolgwan from Times Square

👉 Bus: Yeongdeungpo Fire Station, Times Square 👉 Subway: Yeongdeungpo Station Exit 6 Today I went to a Yeongdeungpo izakaya right across from Times Square

Inside, there's a bar table by the entrance that's great for solo drinking

Past the U-shaped bar counter, further inside

there are tables for 2 to 4 people with an interior that feels like an upscale bar. We sat in the back and ordered two kinds of skewers plus one risotto haha.

If you sit at the bar you get to watch the cooking happen right in front of you They happened to be grilling skewers just then so I watched for a bit haha.
Shin Ramyun risotto, ₩18,000 — how does it taste?
Shin Ramyun risotto ₩18,000

Both my friend and I were super satisfied and said we were glad we ordered it — especially my friend, who normally eats a lot of ramyeon but doesn't even like ramen noodle add-ins lol

I haven't cooked at home much lately so it had been a while since I'd had ramyeon, and the Naver reviews for this Shin Ramyun risotto were so good I got curious and ordered it haha.

Last year I think there was a trend of adding Shin Ramyun powder to cream pasta, and I feel like I get why it caught on lol. I hadn't tried it before, so I sort of expected it'd be a can't-go-wrong combo,

but with a beer alongside it, it was genuinely delicious haha.
Chicken skewers, ₩15,000: the juiciest thing on the menu
Chicken skewers ₩15,000

The second dish to arrive was the chicken skewers, and this was my favorite lol (My friend's favorite was the Shin Ramyun risotto lol — funny since they seemed reluctant when I suggested it.)

There were 3 kinds of skewers: chicken, pork belly-scallion, and beef intestine. Yakitori is usually tasty but tiny in portion, so I was immediately won over by how plump these looked lol

We each picked our favorite — I went with chicken, my friend went with pork belly-scallion
Honestly I usually don't order yakitori since the portions are small for the price, but Nani Byeolgwan's is tasty and not skimpy for the price, so I didn't feel it was bad value at all — if anything I was glad we ordered it haha. Next time I come for drinks or a second round, one chicken yakitori skewer per person should be enough lol.

Honestly the chicken skewers were freaking delicious❤️ Juices bursting out😋

It seemed to be thigh meat, and it was so juicy, moist and tender — it didn't taste like the mass-produced kind, more like a handmade skewer where they skewered pieces of real butchered chicken one by one

Dipped in the sauce, it was the best chicken skewer I've had in a while, so I ate every bite carefully lol (I'll definitely order it again next time lol)
Pork belly and scallion skewers, ₩15,000, plus the free cabbage salad
Pork belly-scallion skewers ₩15,000

With the last dish, the pork belly-scallion skewers, finally arriving, the table was completely full

Even the base cabbage salad side dish was really generous, so this Yeongdeungpo izakaya doubled as our first round and dinner haha.

We originally planned to go to another Yeongdeungpo bar nearby for round two, but we ate so much and so happily at round one that we were too full to go ㅜ Even eating this much, the total came to just over ₩50,000, so the price felt pretty good too haha.

I've been drinking too much lately and thought about cutting back, but the food was so good I decided to have just one beer,

and maybe that's why the beer tasted especially cold and delicious haha.

I don't usually love pork belly much so I didn't have high expectations,

but the skewers looked pretty, and maybe because of the scallions it wasn't greasy and was easy to eat lightly,

making it a great side dish for casual drinking haha. Nani Byeolgwan, a Yeongdeungpo Station izakaya I'd want to seek out again for a casual drink :)
