Then how about Suspicious PT Shop: The Hot Edition, playing in the basement of Nine Theater in Hyehwa? I'd seen another review say "beyond whatever you're imagining," and I was curious just how far that went, so I went and checked it out haha.

Honestly the content level was genuinely shocking, but it was funny enough that I had a great time!

I went to the Saturday 3pm show. Listed full prices were ₩69,000 for general seats (rows C-F) and ₩99,000 for special seats (row B). Running time is listed as about 80 minutes, and I got photos of the waiting area, the ticket price board, and the audience gift.

Where is Nine Theater and how do you get there?

The venue is at 30 Daehak-ro 8-gagil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on basement level 1 of Nine Theater (๑´ڡ`๑) Per signage, it's about 130m from Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station (Line 4), so it's an easy trip by subway. There's no dedicated parking listed, so if you're driving, it's worth checking nearby paid lots.

On the way down to the basement from outside the building, there were posters and banners lined up one after another, so there was no chance of getting lost haha.

Going down the stairs, there's a poster on the wall reading "Is this exercise? Or seduction?" with a 19+ mark and "Nine Theater B1" written below.

Further down there were several pink Suspicious PT Shop banners hanging, featuring the cast wearing crowns — it looked like gym promotional material but somehow suspicious at the same time (˶ᵔ ᕵ ᔁᵔ˶) Next to it stood a yellow signboard reading "Theater entrance · Come inside for ticket pickup!" with an arrow pointing right, so even people picking up tickets on-site shouldn't get lost.

Is the waiting area at Nine Theater spacious?

The waiting area at Nine Theater was much bigger than I expected for a small theater ( ˙⤙˙ ) A lot of small theater lobbies are cramped, but here there were plenty of chairs and tables, so even though it was packed for the Saturday 3pm show, it didn't feel stuffy at all.

The walls are painted sky blue and white with "NO PAIN NO GAIN" written large. Below that is a curved information desk where you can pick up tickets or ask questions.

The ceiling has exposed pipes, but pendant lights keep it from feeling too industrial and make it cozy instead. The tables are white and square, paired with brown leather chairs. Before the show, everyone was on their phones waiting, with couples and friend groups sitting together in small clusters.

There was a self-service corner on one side too. A "Coffee" neon sign hung above it, with paper cups, brown rice green tea, and buckwheat tea bags next to the coffee machine. There was also a water dispenser and recycling bins, handy if you get thirsty while waiting (*ˊᕵˋ*)ﾉ What really caught my eye in this waiting area was the wall decor.

and on the other wall was a retro illustrated poster with English phrases like "STRONG IS THE NEW PRETTY" and "YOU CAN DO IT!" Above it hung framed cast profile photos taken against the theater seats.

There was also a photo zone tucked inside the waiting area! A large backdrop read "A grown-ups' gym theater where laugh muscles burst and hearts race!" with a squat rack, bench, barbell, and exercise bike arranged on a red carpet. With the foggy gym-like backdrop, photos actually came out looking pretty atmospheric haha.

Suspicious PT Shop ticket prices and the couple discount

Before I lay out the details honestly, ticket prices aren't exactly light (｡•́︿•̀｡) But after seeing how packed it was that day, watching the show made it clear why so many people come.

I'll just relay the ticket price board that was on the desk in the waiting area. Even for the same seat, prices vary quite a bit depending on the discount type.

The thing to note in the chart is the couple discount. The general seat couple price of ₩110,400 is for 2 people, so it's ₩55,200 per person — ₩13,800 cheaper per person than the regular ₩69,000 price, and the same amount as the repeat-viewing discount. Calculated the same way, the special seat row B couple discount of ₩158,400 comes to ₩79,200 per person. If you're going with a partner, I'd recommend checking the couple discount first (≧∇≦)/ It's also noted that Seoul Pay and Culture Voucher Cards can be used both online and offline.

A stage and seating built to look like a real gym

From the moment I stepped into the theater, the air already felt hazy (˶ᵔ ᕵ ᔁᵔ˶) People seemed to already feel a strange mood just from that atmosphere alone, and a fog machine was set up in a corner of the stage.

The stage really does look like an actual gym. A bench sits on a black-and-white checkerboard floor, and to the right there's a Smith-machine-style rack, chest equipment, and barbells. A blue banner reading "IT MAKES YOU STRONGER" hangs in the back, and small tin signs saying things like "NO PAIN NO GAIN" and "NEVER GIVE UP" line the walls. In one corner there's a shelf with trophies,

and a yellow "GX" sign along with a Pilates movement chart.

Pink dumbbells were scattered on the floor, and a row of LED bar lights lined the front of the stage.

I thought the lighting was used really well. Purple, pink, blue, and green lights kept shifting, sometimes spreading colorful patterns across the floor (๑´ڡ`๑) It was surprising how just lighting and fog could completely change the mood without the space itself changing. The seating has red chairs arranged in a tiered layout,

with a purple carpet and orange anti-slip strips on the steps. Since it's a small theater, the stage and seats are close together, so I could see the actors' expressions clearly.

Another surprising thing was that people seemed free to step out and come back mid-show. Some folks went to the restroom in between scenes. With an 80-minute runtime, that could be tough if you're in a hurry, so it was nice that this was allowed.

Just how racy does Suspicious PT Shop get?

Now for the part you're probably most curious about ( ˶°ㅁ°˶) Honestly... the content level was shocking lol. At first I was thinking "surely it doesn't actually go that far, no way," but that other review saying it goes beyond whatever you're imagining turned out to be right.

Per the venue's own description, this show bills itself as Korea's boldest adults-only (19+) comedy. It's described as featuring actual adult performers, and it's noted as a follow-up to Suspicious Hair Salon. I'll skip describing specific scenes here — it's better experienced in person than described in a review (*ˊᕵˋ*)ﾉ

Since it's the kind of show that can be a bit embarrassing, audience participation wasn't super high. Everyone was laughing, but a bit shy about stepping forward. Still, the cast did a great job putting the audience at ease.

And the audience itself was hilarious too lol. A person sitting in the front left seat ended up with an actor's underwear, and every time a different male actor spoke to them, they'd try to hand it back. Watching the actor improvise around that in the moment was genuinely funny.

At curtain call, four actors came out to bow and finished with a heart pose, wrapping things up on a warm note (≧∇≦)/ Lots of people in the audience had their phones out filming. Whether filming is allowed can depend on the day's on-site instructions, so check when you go!

Does Suspicious PT Shop work as a couple's date?

💑 Who should go? I thought this was a fine show to see as a couple. The mood is unusual enough that I think it'd actually be more fun with a partner.

💑 What's it about? The story follows episodes between a PT trainer and gym members at a PT shop — odd one-on-one PT sessions and that sort of thing. It's good for friends and married couples too, but I'd recommend it more for long-term couples or people in their late 20s and up, rather than couples who just started dating in their early 20s.

The gift and 20% discount card every audience member receives

There's one more fun thing about this show lol. Every single audience member gets a gift! I got mine in a clear bag too. Inside was a small packaged item along with a purple-and-brown card.

The card read "Suspicious PT Shop audience 20% discount" along with an online store address, a discount code, and a QR code. It even said "Adults only login," keeping the concept consistent right to the end (｡•́︿•̀｡) It made me think they're not just running a play — they seem to run an online store alongside it too. Tying the show's promotion into a discount coupon like this felt like a thoughtful touch, getting both a gift and a discount as an audience member. I suspect this kind of careful detail is part of why the show stays packed despite the ticket price.
